Make a House
Well well well! Don't you dare tell me that you were a kid once and never made a house of cards! :O It used to be so much fun and each floor built used to be a great achievement which suddenly doubled when you bulldozed it with a kick! hahahaha!! :D Yeah, that good old, fun game is available on computer too, yes, you never knew, admit that :P So download and enjoy. Make A House is a new free puzzle available to be downloaded right now! The goal is simple though the rules are quite complicated. Each round a player has to build a card house following special instructions. At the bottom of the screen there appear 5 cards that you need to match and start building a house through many levels. First use the cards which has bigger value. The next floor is allowed to be built on the foundation made of cards with the equal or fewer value. There are also lots of surprises during the game. Beams can be really valuable, Balsa wood - is a combination of cards making 20 points together. 21-cement is another combo variant shown in the instructions, as well as the Blowing Joker that destroys your masterpiece. Broken Hearts: A Soldier's Duty
The story if you read what developers told s just amazing:
Maria Lopez, the main character of Broken Hearts: A Soldier's Duty, and her handsome husband seemed to love each other until the end of the world. Maria, the florist, and David, serving in the army, seemed to be the kindred souls. So it wasn't a surprise for their friends and parents that once they decided to get married. While Fox's wedding was absolutely perfect, following tropical honeymoon became a sort of challenge for them both. Since David had to cut their vacation and went back in his military unit, Maria had fears about his life. As Maria found out that her husband had passed away a few days later, a life of the usual florist turned upside down. The shocking news of David's death caused loss of her memory, and miserable Maria got confused about the present and events occurred while her husband was alive. Your task in Broken Hearts: A Soldier's Duty is to figure out what happened with her husband actually and what is going on in her life after his death. In Broken Hearts: A Soldier's Duty, in order to recover widow's memory, you need to pass through her life one more time again since David passed away and gather together all things and pieces of her partly lost memory that can remind Maria the past. Memories come partially to a widow so at first she remembers names of objects she seeks, then outline and afterwards the whole memory. As you pick everything in one location, disappointed widow will be able to restore events that have occurred and continue her life. Take a care of Maria and be careful because the truth has already taken a memory of one in breathtaking romantic story in Broken Hearts: A Soldier's Duty.

And welcome to my blog on this amazing Tech Tuesday! :) I hope you all are doing great, and hey! I guess I kept my word and posted soon, right? LOL! :D
So yesterday, my bro re-installed Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. Since now I too use Windows 8(I have used 95,98,me,200,XP,Vista,7 also), so I thought the game might give a better performance than that on 7, but to my amazement, it was same as Windows Vista! A havoc!! The problem was that Microsoft claimed Windows 8 to have better backward compatibilty. But no! The same Mouse problem was still there. The earlier solution I posted for Windows 7/Vista(Link Here) doesn't work well with Windows 8. But there is a little change only, so don't feel irritated. Just for convinience sake, I am reposting it as a separate solution for the Windows 8.
The problem that I encountered was that my mouse never worked in the game. These are the days of the USB mice, so I don't know if they encounter the problem with a PS/2 mouse too, I am using a USB one, and I had problems! At first I thought it was just the menu where it didn't work, but no! it never worked in the game too! huh! Similar to Windows 7 and Vista, right? ugh!
Remember what I said about WIndows 7 bit? What did I do? There was a small way I found out to overcome this problem. That was to repeatedly press "Esc" until the mouse starts working. This way the game ran perfectly a couple of times, and as soon as I became happy, I came to know - uh! I got happy a bit too soon! huh!! The game started to crash after some instances of pressing "Esc". Not only that, if in case, my mouse started to work properly, it would go off suddenly! duh!!
I re-installed Windows XP, and saw that XP didn't show this problem. For a moment I saluted Microsoft for such a shitty bug in it's much hype-gathering Operating System Windows 7(I won't say that about Vista, because much had been said against it already by the whole world! LOL!).
But now I will say that Windows 8 too was too hyped and turned shittier in this regard! The mouse moving thing does not work with Windows 8. Windows 8 was told to be backward compatible but it is not.
So the solution is : Change the game properties and run it in compatibility mode under Windows XP Service Pack 3. Notice the change over Win7 solution. In Win8 we change the compatibility to Windows XP Service Pack 3, but in Windows 7 we used to change it Windows98/Me. How to do this? Simple! Follow these steps :
STEP 1. Right click the GTA shortcut.
STEP 2. In the menu click Properties.
STEP 3. A Properties window will come up. Click the Compatibility tab.
STEP 4. Under Compatibility mode, check the box that says Run this program in compatibility mode for:
Then select Windows XP Service Pack 3 from the dropdown list.

The mouse problem is now solved! :) but well! Now the new thing that you would see is, when you run the game, you cannot find any saved games files. Don't worry, they are not deleted. Actually when ran under compatibility mode, the game saves its files in the "Public Documents" instead of the documents of the user earlier. So all you got to do is, go to the Users folder in the drive in which you installed the Windows. Now open the folder of the "Username". "Username" is the name of your user that you created. In that, open Documents. You would see a folder named "GTA San Andreas User Files". For simplicity, since most users install Windows in C: Drive, the link to this folder is like this - "C:\Users\your username\Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files". now copy this folder into the Documents in Public. For example, if you Windows is in Drive C:, copy the folder to "C:\Users\Public\Documents\". And then! hey! You are done! :) Now your new files will be saved in this Public Documents only. So if you wish to back them up later, you have to backup them from Public!
Problem solved, and superb results! I hope it helps all! :)

One of the readers(Brendon Topp) suggested this if the compatibility tab doesn't come: "If the compatibility tab isn't there try right clicking the gta-sa.exe and clicking troubleshoot compatibility. This is how you change the compatibility options."

CAUTION: But let me caution the amateur users that this method asks to edit registry. So do it at your own risk.
Run the registry editor by going to RUN and type regedit . Tap OK
In regedit, navigate to each location below one at a time and do the steps below for each
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers
In the right pane of Layers, right click or press and hold on a empty area, then click/tap on New and String Value
Type in the full path of the program's exe file and press Enter, then double click/tap on the full path
Type This in the "DATA VALUE" portion:
~ RUNASADMIN 16BITCOLOR WIN98
Click ok and exit the registry editor. Run GTA: C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA SanAndreas\gta sa.exe
ANOTHER UPDATE!!!!(03/02/2014)
If you have a Microsoft USB Mouse, then you should not use the Driver update. When I updated my driver, the mouse stopped working. Just make sure you use compatibility mode for the game, and don't install the USB mouse driver. It works fine then.
NOTE:
The mouse may not work in the game menus(Start Game screen and Resume/Options,etc. screen) well even after this solution, but will work without problems in the game.

My exams are up on my head and are starting from 19th December and the status of preparations is not too good as yet, phew! This was(or is, I am not sure! :O) a band that I saw a couple of years ago, and I guess didn't get any success. Today I suddenly recalled them, thought to seek them on the Internet. They are nowhere to be found! Must've been disintegrated following an unsuccessful career, I don't know much. Still thought to share their songs with you all, I found only two songs of them. SO let's hope - ENJOY! :D Oh and one more thing! I couldn't find the lyrics of these songs on the Internet maybe because of no popularity. So I am just sharing videos.

Happy Tuesday to all of you my friends! :D As you know I am busy with my practicals these days, phew! Finals are tiring, aren't they?
Anyways, I'm back with my posts of Windows 8. BUt am I back really? LOL! I don't know when I'll be posting the next one! haha! I know that I didn't post after the first one since a long time, but I am serious about me being too busy with the college. But I guess my readers understand the fact and don't demand an explanation, right? :D
I hope you all are enjoying the new OS by Microsoft. It's a nice one, and I am totally loving it. The boot loader, did ya all see that? That's amazing! :D When I got a dual boot for my PC with Win8 and Fedora 17, I was amazed to see the beautiful GUI of the Boot Loader which supports MOUSE! Oh, Yeah! :D Also when I had certain problem with my motherboard, it forcibly updated my BIOS, which was though forced, but was nice! :D Apart from all that Windows 8 is a nice Operating System which I didn't expect after using the Developer Preview earlier. So when I found the post on Win8 shortcuts, I thought I should share with you all.

They had uploaded these 3 pics so I directly share those pics with you all. I think it'll be rather handy for you all to just save the following pics to your desktops so that you can easily access these shortcuts offline! :)
I believe that this post will be helpful to all of you. And yes, I am unsure about the sticky and filter keys shortcuts. Maybe they are disabled by default. But those shortcuts are available from the times of Windows 7. Anyways, the sticky and filter keys were a real pain in the bum! LOL! :D
With a change in the environment of the most popular Operating System, people are taking it slow on the Windows 8. But sooner or later everyone will be switching to it since it actually is a good operating system and these shortcuts will help reduce you adapting to it ;)

A regular blog visitor asked me to post about Windows 8 on 26th October(the date of release). I said, "I will first check it out and then I will write about it. Though I have already posted bout the release preview if you wish to get a little overview sort of." Now that I have experienced Windows 8 for a few days, I can give some honest and worthy opinions. So I am starting this Post Series about Windows 8 and I will be posting about various topics in different posts. As the time will pass my experience would also get richer and I will be able to give even better reviews.
INTERNET EXPLORER 10
Let's start this post series about Windows 8 with Internet Explorer 10. Today I would cover everything I have got to know about this new Web Browser that MS launched with it's new funky Operating System.
The first thing I would like you all to know is that INTERNET EXPLORER 10 IS NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR WINDOWS 7. Though Microsoft says it will be soon launching a preview of IE10 for Win7 too, but let's see. Anyways, as richer an experience for Windows 8, as per my thinking cannot be guaranteed in Windows 7 since in 8 we got two interface of IE10 which supposedly will be absent in 7. I mean only one the normal interface will be present and not the metro one. Let's talk about IE10 in Win8 now.
IE10: The Regular Desktop Interface
Checked the above screenshot? What is so special? LOL! NOTHING! :P IE10 hardly shows anything new over IE9 when it comes to a general desktop user's experience. But it has a lot of good and bads. Let's first take a look at the brighter side! :D
It crashes less for most websites. IE10 is quite cool and fast just like IE9 but still much better than 9 in that regard. But hey! don't compare it with the nightmare child IE8. LOL! That sucked! IE10 is much better. But then at the end of the day it will just be the MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER!!! It doesn't crash for most websites, but for those which ample HTML5, Java and other dynamic designs(except for ASP.NET), it will give a throat slitting experience! For example, Gmail looks good on IE10 until you start using it! hahahaha!! What happens is IE10 tries to switch to compatibility mode most of the times when you try to view a message in your inbox, and then, no one can save you! The series of hanging-crashing-recovering starts! Even with facebook the experience will be great until you use the facebook search!
Though it supports the third-party retail plugins so IE10 is not that bad and in the history of Internet Explorers it is comparable to IE9, the coolest one.
IE10: The Metro Interface
Now that's Windows 8 IE! haha! :D Just look at it, the idiotic metro interface on my desktop! grrrrrrr!! Just now Microsoft gets shocked - "IDIOTIC?" and I reply, "Hell yes!!" >_< What's so crazy about this metro interfaced IE10? It is foolish. It would let you watch videos without installing flash, maybe the Microsoft Silverlight at work already, but if you wish to install flash/java, FUCK OFF!! Seriously, this interface doesn't support any third party plug-ins. Though it's full screen and faster and reliable than the regular version with less chances of crashing.
My personal opinion - If you use it in the regular interface, you'll have to wait for a couple of updates to be released to make it better. The Do not track service is okay sort of. If you surf for surfing only then you'll love Metro, but if you just go Berserk on the Internet, I say prefer the regular interface since it can give you a better experience supporting more fonts, and all. A better option is USE FIREFOX INSTEAD! LOL!!

Did anyone see this coming? Microsoft has steadily added privacy-related features to Internet Explorer over the past three releases. In IE10, there’s now support for Do Not Track, Tracking Protection Lists (which work even when a website doesn’t support DNT), and InPrivate filtering. Has Microsoft really taken the lead when it comes to building trust in the browser?
"Internet Explorer 10 is the first release of Microsoft’s once-dominant browser that’s built for use on touchscreen devices and, while IE 10 is the default browser on all Windows 8 machines, it’s on tablets that IE 10 really shines.
The entire IE 10 experience on a tablet revolves around gestures. By default the browser launches in Windows 8′s full-screen mode with little chrome or UI to see. To get to many features you need to use gestures — swipe down from the top and you’ll see the tab bar with thumbnail previews; swipe up from the bottom and you’ll see the URL bar.
Internet Explorer 10 adopts at least one idea popularized by Apple’s iOS — the ability to pin sites to your start screen. It’s nothing more than a bookmark really, but it makes getting to your favorite sites and apps a bit quicker and makes them feel more like first-class citizens on the start screen.
There’s also a version of IE 10 that runs in Windows 8 desktop mode, though on the desktop there’s not nearly as much to recommend IE over competitors. From tests I’ve seen around the web IE 10 benchmarks well on the desktop and, as we’ve looked at before, it has much improved web standards support, but without the touchscreen features there’s not much to recommend IE 10 over alternatives like Chrome or Firefox. If you’re an IE 9 fan looking for a solid update, IE 10 has you covered, if you’re already a happy Chrome or Firefox user there’s nothing in IE 10 on the desktop that’s likely to tempt you.
Unfortunately — and this may well be IE 10′s fatal flaw — there’s no way to make IE 10 the default app for the Windows 8 Metro UI and another browser the default for the desktop interface. It’s all or nothing.
For now IE 10 is better on touchscreens and more or less on par in the desktop interface, but both Chrome and Firefox release updates every six weeks, while feature-adding IE updates tend to be years apart. That means odds are Chrome and Firefox will reach feature parity on touchscreens before IE 10 sees a major update. Still, for the time being at least, IE 10 can claim the crown on Windows 8 tablets."
The Internet Explorer 10 team came out today to proclaim that “IE10 is the Windows 8 browser.” Once again, it’s not like consumers have a choice at the moment, but it does seem pretty cool. IE10 was built with touch specifically in mind and Microsoft argues that it’s “the first browser that is perfect for Touch.”
Microsoft is so confident that IE10 changes everything that they made it the exclusive browser in Windows RT. They would prefer you to use it in Windows 8 Pro, but that’s a little more open. In fact, Google has already set up Windows 8 users with “GetYourGoogleBack,” a site that provides links to both Google Web Search and Google Chrome for Windows 8 users.
Not surprisingly, NSS Labs recommends choosing a browser that's effective at blocking malware downloads. Those who just can't bear to use Internet Explorer should make sure to use "antivirus suites with robust web reputation technologies."
