"Rooftops" by Lostprophets
Lyrics
When our time is up
When our lives are done
Will we say, we've had our fun
Will we make a mark this time
Will we always say we tried
We're standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
This is all we got now
Everybody scream your heart out
All the love I've met
I have no regrets
If it all ends now, I'm set
Will we make a mark this time
Will we always say we tried
We're standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
This is all we got now
Everybody scream your heart out
Standing on the rooftops
Wait until the bombs drop
This is all we got now
Scream until your heart stops
Never gonna regret
Watching every sunset
We'll, listen to your heartbeat
All the love that we found
Standing on the rooftops
Wait until the bombs drop
This is all we got now
Scream until your heart stops
Never gonna regret
Watching every sunset
We'll, listen to your heartbeat
All the love that we found
Scream your heart out
Scream your heart out
Scream your heart out
Scream your
Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
This is all we got now

"Broken Wings" by Mr Mister
Lyrics
Baby, don't understand
Why we can't just hold on to each other's hands?
This time might be the last if fear unless
I make it all too clear I need you so, ohh
Take these broken wings
And learn to fly again, learn to live so free
When we hear the voices sing
The book of love will open up and let us in
Take these broken wings
Baby, I think tonight
We can take what was wrong and make it right
Baby, it's all I know that you're half of the flesh
And blood that makes me whole, I need you so.
So take these broken wings
And learn to fly again, learn to live so free
When we hear the voices sing
The book of love will open up and let us in
Yeah, yeah
Let us in
Let us in
Baby, it's all I know that you're half of the flesh
And blood that makes me whole
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
So take these broken wings
And learn to fly again, learn to live so free
And when we hear the voices sing
The book of love will open up and let us in
Take these broken wings
You got to learn to fly, learn to live and love so free
When we hear the voices sing
The book of love will open up for us and let us in
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, ooh
Hey all my dear friends! :) I hope you all are doing just superb! :D
So the second post for today! haha! :D
"Broken" by Seether
Lyrics
I wanted you to know that I love the way you laugh
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
And I keep your photograph, I know it serves me well
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain
Because I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
You've gone away, you don't feel me here anymore
The worst is over now and we can breathe again
I wanna hold you high, you steal my pain away
There's so much left to learn and no one left to fight
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain
Because I'm broken when I'm open
And I don't feel like I am strong enough
Because I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
Because I'm broken when I'm open
And I don't feel like I am strong enough
'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
You've gone away, you don't feel me here anymore
"Roses" by Poets of the Fall
Lyrics
I've walked the distance, I paid my dues and tried to have a go at what I thought I knew was real, held no appeal
I've been to places, I've seen the tidings,
I bought a book of rules for every coin that I could steal
And so I came to gaze upon the stars, when they were yet unborn
And consequently, tear at my old scars, and the mask I had outworn
So when I'm crying alone
Yeah, when I'm cold as a dying stone
Grow me a garden of roses
Paint me the colors of sky and rain
Teach me to speak with their voices
Show me the way and I'll try again
I've heard the rumors, started fires, I sowed a sordid lot of plays for keeps for what I need, behold the demons that I freed
I've tried my best at wearing the hard hat, but healing doesn't seem to happen when you hide away the seed
And so I came across the medicine man, and he showed me what I'd forlorn
For if I'm stayed it happens by my own hand, and my own voice full of scorn
So when I'm crying alone
Yeah, when I'm cold as a dying stone
Grow me a garden of roses
Paint me the colors of sky and rain
Teach me to speak with their voices
Show me the way and I'll try again
Without you I'm nothing at all
And life has the face of a morbid game
With you nothing seems impossible
It all seems to fit the frame
So when I'm crying alone
Yeah, when I'm cold as a dying stone
Grow me a garden of roses
Paint me the colors of sky and rain
Teach me to speak with their voices
Show me the way and I'll try again
So now I am going for my training, will be back in the evening when I shall visit you all back! Don't forget to leave a message on the chat-box and comment/suggest anything you people wish to! Have a great day up ahead my friends! :D Hope to see you soon again! :D

Hey all! How are you doing my dear readers?! :) I hope all of you are just great, like always! ;) :D :D
So, it was the fourth day of training an this training thing will extend upto 30th July. That means all my holidays are gonna be ransacked by acute busy schedules! >_< But whatever, it's not so interesting though because I'm not liking the place, but still it's okay, I hope I'll start enjoying it soon. Anyways, I'm learning web development that means I might tweak my blog a little once my training is over! LOL! MAYBE!! :P
Maybe my today's post is a result of this training only! LOL! Whatever! Today they were discussing about javascripts there and it were an interesting discussion, still I said that I ain't enjoying much because the teacher is unable to answer some questions that makes me irritated! >_< So this post is more of a self-reference post that would be a bit too knowledgeable for me! :D
JavaScript (sometimes abbreviated JS) is a prototype-based scripting language that is dynamic, weakly typed and has first-class functions. It is a multi-paradigm language, supporting object-oriented, imperative, and functional programming styles.
JavaScript was formalized in the ECMAScript language standard and is primarily used in the form of client-side JavaScript, implemented as part of a Web browser in order to give enhanced user interfaces and dynamic websites. This enables programmatic access to computational objects within a host environment.
JavaScript's use in applications outside Web pages — for example in PDF documents, site-specific browsers, and desktop widgets — is also significant. Newer and faster JavaScript VMs and frameworks built upon them have also increased the popularity of JavaScript for server-side web applications.
JavaScript uses syntax influenced by that of C. JavaScript copies many names and naming conventions from Java, but the two languages are otherwise unrelated and have very different semantics. Example - Termination of each line is compulsory in JAVA but not in javascript. The key design principles within JavaScript are taken from the Self and Scheme programming languages.
JavaScript was originally developed in Netscape, by Brendan Eich. Battling with Microsoft over the Internet, Netscape considered their client-server solution as a distributed OS, running a portable version of Sun Microsystem's Java. Because Java was a competitor of C++ and aimed at professional programmers, Netscape also wanted a lightweight interpreted language that would complement Java by appealing to nonprofessional programmers, like Microsoft's VB.
Developed under the name Mocha, LiveScript was the official name for the language when it first shipped in beta releases of Netscape Navigator 2.0 in September 1995, but it was renamed JavaScript when it was deployed in the Netscape browser version 2.0B3.
The change of name from LiveScript to JavaScript roughly coincided with Netscape adding support for Java technology in its Netscape Navigator web browser. The final choice of name caused confusion, giving the impression that the language was a spin-off of the Java programming language, and the choice has been characterized by many as a marketing ploy by Netscape to give JavaScript the cachet of what was then the hot new web programming language. It has also been claimed that the language's name is the result of a co-marketing deal between Netscape and Sun, in exchange for Netscape bundling Sun's Java runtime with its then-dominant browser.
Today, "JavaScript" is a trademark of Oracle Corporation. It is used under license for technology invented and implemented by Netscape Communications and current entities such as the Mozilla Foundation.
The most common use of JavaScript is to write functions that are embedded in or included from HTML pages and that interact with the Document Object Model (DOM) of the page. Some simple examples of this usage are:
Loading new page content or submitting data to the server via AJAX without reloading the page (for example, a social network might allow the user to post status updates without leaving the page)
Animation of page elements, fading them in and out, resizing them, moving them, etc.
Interactive content, for example games, and playing audio and video
Validating input values of a web form to make sure that they are acceptable before being submitted to the server.
Transmitting information about the user's reading habits and browsing activities to various websites. Web pages frequently do this for web analytics, ad tracking, personalization or other purposes.
Because JavaScript code can run locally in a user's browser (rather than on a remote server), the browser can respond to user actions quickly, making an application more responsive. Furthermore, JavaScript code can detect user actions which HTML alone cannot, such as individual keystrokes. Applications such as Gmail take advantage of this: much of the user-interface logic is written in JavaScript, and JavaScript dispatches requests for information (such as the content of an e-mail message) to the server. The wider trend of Ajax programming similarly exploits this strength.
Because JavaScript runs in widely varying environments, an important part of testing and debugging is to test and verify that the JavaScript works across multiple browsers.
The DOM interfaces for manipulating web pages are not part of the ECMAScript standard, or of JavaScript itself. Officially, the DOM interfaces are defined by a separate standardization effort by the W3C; in practice, browser implementations differ from the standards and from each other, and not all browsers execute JavaScript.
To deal with these differences, JavaScript authors can attempt to write standards-compliant code which will also be executed correctly by most browsers; failing that, they can write code that checks for the presence of certain browser features and behaves differently if they are not available. In some cases, two browsers may both implement a feature but with different behavior, and authors may find it practical to detect what browser is running and change their script's behavior to match. Programmers may also use libraries or toolkits which take browser differences into account.
In short we see that javascript is a light-weight scripting language that helps convert static HTML based pages into dynamic pages which interact in real-time! :) Now I must take a leave since I have to go somewhere! All suggestions and comments are welcomed as always! :) Good evening everyone, See you all soon! ^_^
Hey all my dear readers! :D How are you all?! :) I hope everyone is doing fine! :)
So it's Wednesday, Random Wednesday to be precise! :D How is it going on for you all?! :D I thought it's been long when I last discussed something about some person, so thought since there have been so many people(living or dead) who are popular, and writing about them would be so knowledgeable for me and my readers(and I'll only have to copy things since I cannot take chances of being incorrect about a person, who knows if someone sues me over that?! :O LOL! haha! just kidding! ;) ) I think it would be great idea to keep talking about people every Wednesday since it would be cool in all senses! :D :D (Moreover, I'll have something to post every Wednesday atleast! hahahaha!)
Okay, enough of me speaking speaking and speaking! Let's come back to our original topic. What were talking about? yes! We were talking about the great Roman Emperor who had a sad assassination in a time when he could have glorified Rome even more! You all must have heard about the famous play by William Shakespeare - "Julius Caesar". There was an excerpt from the original play in our textbook at school and I really enjoyed Mark Antony's speech in that, it was seriously a superb piece of art!
Gaius Julius Caesar
(July 100 BC – 15 March 44 BC)
Julius Caesar was a Roman general and statesman and a distinguished writer of Latin prose. He played a critical role in the gradual transformation of the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire.
In 60 BC, Caesar, Crassus and Pompey formed a political alliance that was to dominate Roman politics for several years. Their attempts to amass power through populist tactics were opposed by the conservative elite within the Roman Senate, among them Cato the Younger with the frequent support of Cicero. Caesar's conquest of Gaul, completed by 51 BC, extended Rome's territory to the English Channel and the Rhine. Caesar became the first Roman general to cross both when he built a bridge across the Rhine and conducted the first invasion of Britain.
These achievements granted him unmatched military power and threatened to eclipse Pompey's standing. The balance of power was further upset by the death of Crassus in 53 BC. Political realignments in Rome finally led to a standoff between Caesar and Pompey, the latter having taken up the cause of the Senate. Ordered by the Senate to stand trial in Rome for various charges, Caesar marched on Rome with one legion—legio XIII—from Gaul to Italy, crossing the Rubicon in 49 BC. This sparked a civil war from which he emerged as the unrivaled leader of the Roman world.
After assuming control of government, he began extensive reforms of Roman society and government. He centralised the bureaucracy of the Republic and was eventually proclaimed "dictator in perpetuity". A group of senators, led by Marcus Junius Brutus, assassinated the dictator on the Ides of March (15 March) 44 BC, hoping to restore the constitutional government of the Republic. However, the result was a series of civil wars, which ultimately led to the establishment of the permanent Roman Empire by Caesar's adopted heir Octavius (later known as Augustus). Much of Caesar's life is known from his own accounts of his military campaigns, and other contemporary sources, mainly the letters and speeches of Cicero and the historical writings of Sallust. The later biographies of Caesar by Suetonius and Plutarch are also major sources.
That could be a short caricature of the great personality that lived once! Now let's talk about some aspects/facts that are worth noting:
Though the term "Caesar" means "the Emperor" in Roman, still most people associate it uniquely with Julius Caesar. You can assume how great a man he had been!
The young Julius went to Rhodes to study oratory, but on his way he was captured by pirates whom he charmed and seemingly befriended. After he was freed, Julius arranged to have the pirates executed.
Julius Caesar himself was guilty of many extra-marital affairs, -- with Cleopatra, among others. One of the most significant relations was with Servilia Caepionis, the half-sister of Cato the Younger. Because of this relationship, it was thought possible that Brutus was Julius Caesar's son.
Second-year Latin students are familiar with the military side of Julius Caesar's life. As well as conquering the Gallic tribes, he wrote about the Gallic Wars in clear, elegant prose, referring to himself in the third person. It was through his campaigns that Julius Caesar was finally able to work his way out of debt, although the third member of the triumvirate, Crassus, also helped.
Although Julius Caesar had a living son, Caesarion (not officially acknowledged), Caesarion was an Egyptian, the son of Queen Cleopatra, so Julius Caesar adopted a great nephew, Octavian, in his will. Octavian was to become the first Roman emperor, Augustus.
ulius Caesar married 3 times. His first marriage was to Cornelia Cinnilla, from 83 BCE until her death in childbirth in 69 or 68 BCE. His second marriage was to Pompeia, from 67 BC until he divorced her around 61 BCE. His third marriage was to Calpurnia Pisonis, from 59 BC until Caesar's death.
)Julius Caesar invented the first recorded encryption technique known now as the Caesar cipher. It was a code technique to send military messages. This simple and effective code involved letter shifting of 2 to the right, A becomes C, B becomes D, etc…so "CAESAR" would read ‘ECGUCT’.
Julius Caesar is credited with creating the concept of "Leap Year" in 45 B.C.
Some great quotes by the great man:
As a rule, men worry more about what they can't see than about what they can.
Cowards die many times before their actual deaths.
Experience is the teacher of all things.
I came, I saw, I conquered.
Fortune, which has a great deal of power in other matters but especially in war, can bring about great changes in a situation through very slight forces.
I love the name of honor, more than I fear death.
If you must break the law, do it to seize power: in all other cases observe it.
In war, events of importance are the result of trivial causes.
It is better to create than to learn! Creating is the essence of life.
It is not these well-fed long-haired men that I fear, but the pale and the hungry-looking.
Men are nearly always willing to believe what they wish. Men freely believe that which they desire.
No one is so brave that he is not disturbed by something unexpected.
So that's all for today, I take a leave now friends! :) I hope you liked the post and as always the comments and suggestions are welcomed! My great apologies if it were copied material, I just wanted to keep it as right as I could, though I have added little bits somewhere to make it atleast 0.01% original if not more than that! :) Se you all soon, Good evening! :)
Hey all my dear readers! :) I hope you all are doing just great! :D Don't ask about the Summer Training, it's ridiculously boring! >_<
Anyways, it's Tuesday, or you may say Tech Tuesday as per Toxifier way! But before proceeding, I would like to say I have been part of a great discussion recently on the internet and would like to share it with you all, but that on Fromrum Friday, let's concentrate on our tech Tuesday for the time being.
So coming back to our original discussion, Firefox 13 is unleashed! *APPLAUSE* :D It's certainly better than it's predecessors, that means (if we don't talk about Firefox 4-7) Mozilla kept it's regime of giving out a better browser in each installment! :)
What's new about Firefox? Well, there always are ample amount of changes, but the most significant and easily recognizable ones for the users is the Speed Dial! The new Firefox 13 includes a redesigned New Tab page that shows you thumbnails of your frequently visited sites. The new addition, often dubbed Speed Dial in honor of Opera's take on the feature, has been a long time coming, as every other major browser has enjoyed some variation of it for quite some time now. For Firefox, it is new new new new new! :D
Moreover, it is easy to hide the Speed Dial.
A number of improvements that Mozilla has built into this new Firefox release find the browser playing catch-up, treading water, and forging ahead all at the same time. Another improvement apart from the Speed Dial is, the previous home page showed only a Google search bar and two small text links at the bottom of the screen, the new one includes large icons to give you easy access to downloads, bookmarks, history, add-ons, sync, and settings. You can access the home page at about:home.
Those changes are good and easily noticeable to the normal everyday user. But one move that will help Firefox immediately move ahead is its support for Google's SPDY protocol is now on by default. SPDY affects browsing in two ways, assuming you're loading a Web page that support it. It's a more secure successor to HTTP because it forces SSL encryption for all sites, and it's a faster protocol, too.
There's a number of reasons for that. Three of the major ones are that it can request multiple site elements over a single connection; it can assign priorities to those elements so more important ones show up first; and it can compress header data. So, if you're loading a site in Firefox that supports SPDY, it ought to finish loading much faster than otherwise. Two notable sites that support SPDY are Twitter.com and Google.com. Currently, only Chrome and Firefox work with SPDY.
On the performance backend, Firefox 13 makes a few adjustments that ought to result in a more pleasant browsing experience for most people. If you have multiple tabs load when Firefox starts, the browser will now only load the the Web page content of the active tab. This means that for heavy tab-abusers like myself, we'll be able to get started in the browser much faster.
The new version of the browser also does a better job at memory management and has shrunk its start-up time.
Developers tools also see a large batch of small improvements in Firefox 13, such as making recently opened but now closed panels reopen simultaneously so that tools re-appear en masse; and saving CSS files loaded locally without a save prompt for a faster workflow.
I hope you like the article, all suggestions and comments are always welcomed! :) Hope to see you all soon again! :) I have got some work now, so I must take a leave! :) Good evening friends! Have a lot of fun! ^_^
Hey all! :) Happy New Week! :D I hope you all are doing fine and the week goes on to be superb for you! :)
So my Summer Training started today, what does that mean?! That simply means that my Holidays went short lived! :/ Anyways, I'll try and post things every now and then so that you all have fun! :D By the way, it's Monday today, which means MUSICAL MONDAY at my blog! :D So let's share some music! :D
"Lonely World" - Limp Bizkit
Lyrics:
Who's the man (the man in the middle)
Who's the man (the man in the middle)
Who's the man (the man in the middle)
Who's the man (the man in the middle)
Whos the man?
Whos, the m-m-man?
[Verse 2]
When I reminisce ignorance was bliss,
Back in the days where the magic exist
Never be the same as it was, 'cuz the way it was
Just another day in the maze of a myth
Had a lot of fun living life on the run,
Never had a chance to pause to get a better glance
Everything was free and everything was fast
Never even thought it wouldn't last
When you go the mind of a man in the middle
Life is just a big fat riddle, so figure it out
Always thinking that you know
Everything little thing there is to know
But you don't really know, ya know?
It's like love, some people get it
For some it's just a glove that just never fitted
For me it's just a pain in the ass
But I'm addicted to the taste of hopin' it could last
[Chorus]
Another day another night inside a lonely world
Another game another fight inside a lonely world
Another wrong another right inside a lonely world
Such a lonely world, such a lonely world
Who's the man (the man in the middle)
Who's the man (the man in the middle)
Who's the man (the man in the middle)
Who's the man (the man in the middle)
[Verse 2]
Maybe I'm a target for people that are bitter
At least I can say that I've never been a quitter
I remember high school, man I hated high school
It was like prison with bullies always putting me down
Just a little skater boy they could pick on
I learned to forgive'em, now I got the balls they can lick on
I loved sneakin' out when my mom was asleep
With my gothic girlfriend makin' love in the creek
With the mind of a man in the middle
It could be the end of the world as we know it
Still I never want it all, and I never want it now
I just want to cruise, if I loose then I'll figure it out
How the times flies, even with the blink of an eye
When you're young you absorb like a sponge in disguise
Then you get a little older and gather your thoughts
It's amazing what you learn
When you've never been taught, ya know?
[Chorus]
Another day another night inside a lonely world
Another game another fight inside a lonely world
Another wrong another right inside a lonely world
Such a lonely world, such a lonely world
No matter how hard I can try inside a lonely world
No one can hear me when I cry inside a lonely world
I'll never know the reasons why inside a lonely world
Such a lonely world (such a lonely world)
No matter how hard I can try inside a lonely world
No one can hear me when I cry inside a lonely world
I'll never know the reasons why inside a lonely world
Such a lonely world (such a lonely world)
[Chorus]
Another day another night inside a lonely world
Another game another fight inside a lonely world
Another wrong another right inside a lonely world
Such a lonely world, such a lonely world
Who's the man (in such a lonely world)
Who's the man (in such a lonely world)
Who's the man (in such a lonely world)
Who's the man (in such a lonely world)
(in such a lonely world)
(in such a lonely world)
(in such a lonely world)
(such a lonely world, such a lonely world)
"Numb" - Linkin Park
Lyrics:
I'm tired of being what you want me to be
Feeling so faithless, lost under the surface
I don't know what you're expecting of me
Put under the pressure of walking in your shoes
(Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow)
Every step that I take is another mistake to you
(Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow)
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
Become so tired so much more aware
I'm becoming this all I want to do
Is be more like me and be less like you
Can't you see that you're smothering me?
Holding too tightly, afraid to lose control
?Cause everything that you thought I would be
Has fallen apart right in front of you
(Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow)
Every step that I take is another mistake to you
(Caught in the undertow just caught in the undertow)
And every second I waste is more than I can take
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
Become so tired so much more aware
I'm becoming this all I want to do
Is be more like me and be less like you
And I know I may end up failing too
But I know you were just like me
With someone disappointed in you
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
Become so tired so much more aware
I'm becoming this all I want to do
Is be more like me and be less like you
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
I'm tired of being what you want me to be
I've become so numb I can't feel you there
I'm tired of being what you want me to be
Hey all my dear readers! :) How are you all doing?! I hope fine! :D :D It's Sunday, I mean SUPER SUNDAY! :D My sincere apologies that even though I had Holidays, I didn't post much the whole week. This is going to be a very short tutorial for running an application in DOSBOX. Actually if you people remember, I posted DOS Games and DOSBOX software earlier. Now it's time to make you all understand how to run a DOS Game in DOSBOX. I am not including tonnes of irritating or technical details, I'm just going to share a short and quik tutorial to run a DOS Application in DOSBOX. That way you know what you need to know to run the DOS Games on Windows 7 :D :D :D :D
So, let's start! :) First you need is DOSBOX. If you are unaware of the software, check it out here and for DOS Games, Click Here.
Okay, So you have DOSBOX installed on your system now? :) GOOD! :D
Next step is to run it, simple, Double-Click DOSBOX.exe
Now what you see is something of this sort:
So now what our aim is, to run RoadFighter.exe that is stored in my Downloads Directory. Now my Downloads Directory exists in "C:\Users\Toxifier\" Now consider that I have made a folder named "Games" in my Downloads Directory. All my DOS Games are stored there. Now what my aim is? It is to run those DOS Games. How would I proceed? I need to mount that directory into my DOSBOX. What I mean by mounting is that, I make it virtually accessible to DOSBOX. How I do it? Simple command. In you DOSBOX Window, Type(Without double-quotes)
"MOUNT Y C:\Users\Toxifier\Downloads\Games"
That means now for DOSBOX, Y-Drive is my Games Folder located in Downloads Directory. Similarly you can mount any of your folders into DOSBOX. I have mounted my Games Folder as Y-Drive. If I typed the following command instead, it would have mounted my Games Folder in X-Drive for DOSBOX(not for WINDOWS 7).
"MOUNT X C:\Users\Toxifier\Downloads\Games"
Similarly, if I wanted to mount my whole D-Drive as in Windows 7 to appear as G-Drive in DOSBOX, I would have used the following Command:
"MOUNT Y D:\"
Now I have done that, now I need to run ROADFIGHTER.EXE located in my Games Folder. Since DOS could read a file name with no more than 11 characters, I have to run ROADFI~1.EXE in DOSBOX though the real filename is ROADFIGHTER.EXE
How I do this?
First, since I'm in Z:\ by default, which DOSBOX considers it's default directory, I need to come into Y:\ Drive. I type:
"Y:\" and press enter. Now I need to run ROADFIGHTER.EXE in Y:\ Drive(for DOSBOX). I type:
"ROADFI~1.EXE" and press enter! The game runs.
Press Alt+Enter to run in Full-Screen Mode. To exit DOSBOX directly, press Ctrl+F9. Else you may type in exit in DOSBOX to quit it! :)
Certain screenshots I found on Google that show that, YES! YOU CAN RELIVE THE GOOD OLD DAYS! :D Playing DOS Games on differnet Windows using DOSBOX! :)
I hope this short tutorial was helpful for you all. Have a great day my friends. All comments and suggestions are always welcomed! :) I hope to see you all soon again! :D :D Have a fun-filled Tech Tuesday and play lots of DOS Games on your DOSBOX, so you can run DOS Games on Widows 7 too! :D :D :D :D :D Have a stupendous day dear friends! ^_^
Hey all my dear readers! :) Good Morning! :D This is the new week, I hope it goes on fabulous for you all! :) I'm sharing 2 songs by Oasis, a band that was so good, I hope it still existed! :/ But anyways, it has to be a cheerful start to the week, so smile BIG! :D and enjoy these 2 awesome songs! :)
"Champagne Supernova"
Lyrics:
How many special people change?
How many lives are living strange?
Where were you while we were getting high?
Slowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannon ball
Where were you while we were getting high?
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a Champagne Supernova in the sky
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a Champagne Supernova
A Champagne Supernova in the sky
Wake up the dawn and ask her why?
A dreamer dreams she never dies
Wipe that tear away now from your eye
Slowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannon ball
Where were you while we were getting high?
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a Champagne Supernova in the sky
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a Champagne Supernova
A Champagne Supernova
'Cos people believe that they're
Gonna get away for the summer
But you and I, we live and die
The world's still spinning round
We don't know why?
Why? Why? Why? Why?
How many special people change?
How many lives are living strange?
Where were you while we were getting high?
Slowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannon ball
Where were you while we were getting high?
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a Champagne Supernova in the sky
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a Champagne Supernova
A Champagne Supernova
'Cos people believe that they're
Gonna get away for the summer
But you and I, we live and die
The world's still spinning round
We don't know why?
Why? Why? Why? Why?
How many special people change?
How many lives are living strange?
Where were you while we were getting high?
We were getting high
We were getting high
We were getting high
"Don't Look Back in Anger"
Lyrics:
Slip inside the eye of your mind
Don't you know you might find a better place to play
You said that you'd never been
But all the things that you've seen will slowly fade away
So I start a revolution from my bed
'Coz you said the brains I had went to my head
Step outside the summertime's in bloom
Stand up beside the fireplace, take that look from off your face
You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out
So Sally can wait
She knows it's too late as we're walking on by
Her soul slides away
"But don't look back in anger", I heard you say
Take me to the place where you go
Where nobody knows if it's night or day
Please don't put your life in the hands
Of a Rock 'n' Roll band who'll throw it all away
Gonna start the revolution from my bed
'Coz you said the brains I had went to my head
Step outside 'coz summertime's in bloom
Stand up beside the fireplace, take that look from off your face
You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out
So Sally can wait
She knows it's too late as we're walking on by
Her soul slides away
"But don't look back in anger", I heard you say
So Sally can wait
She knows it's too late as we're walking on by
Her soul slides away
"But don't look back in anger", I heard you say
Hey all my dear friends and readers! ^_^ How are you all?! :D I know my exams ended on Friday still I didn't post anything yesterday, my apologies about that, I went out with the family! :) But hey! it's holidays until August! :D What does that mean? Many Many Blog posts! hahaha! :D
So what I wanted to discuss with you all today? Na! nothing much to discuss, I wanted to share rather. Remember I made a post on Tuesday about DOSBOX? Yes, You do! :P
The main reason why I shared it with you all was of course that to share something using which you can run those age-old DOS programs and play those 1980s DOS Games once again! :) After doing a bit of research on the Internet, I have found a few links to download those old DOS games. Though I doubt how legitimate they are! :O Since you all know that Google is no longer a source of quality information, It shows all sort of malware and illegal links engulfed in the TOP RESULTS ONLY! >_< So whatever, I am sharing those links which had a good collection of the DOS Games, legal or not, I AM NOT SURE!! This is a kind of Disclaimer for this post(ONLY THIS POST) that I don't know if these links are legit!
Anyways, let's be back to the topic. So I shared a DOSBOX info on Tuesday, the link to that post goes here. So as you can see that DOSBOX can be used to run those old games and relive that 1980s era of wonderful games! :) So the links to websites that I found are as under:
DosGames
This Website is quite nice with a good collection of DOS Games. The games are arranged in Categories, that's quite nice! :) Oh am I reviewing the website?! LOL! No! I am just trying to share some good ones with you! :P I have attached the link you can find out yourself about the collection of the games.
This website is almost similar to DosGames. The collection of games too is similar but in any case is quite huge and cool! :D The links is as under and go check yourself and enjoy the games! :)
Another similar website. Though the category-vise arrangement is kinda missing. But you can play DOS Games online too on this website! :D :D That's the cool part! :)
This website is perhaps much better in case of the collection than the other 3 websites I shared. I found ROADFIGHTER on this website! :D I didn't see if the other websites too had it, but I downloaded it from this one because a regular reader of the blog, Willy, commented on my earlier post and told me this link! haha! :D The other think that is different from the other websites in this case, which might attract idiots, is, erm, let me not say, check for yourself! :P
So, a short post? Damn! I'm kinda tired people! :P The size of the posts would again increase soon, don't worry! :P :P Anyways, I'm taking a leave for now, would share more later today, but I don't promise! :P And yes! My apologies to my daily visitors that I didn't visit back yesterday. I'll do it today for sure! :) For now, I leave, and as always, I would be obliged to get comments and suggestions from you all! :) Good Day! Thanks for your time reading this! :)
Hey everyone! :) How are you all doing?! :D I'm great and today's exam went on nicely. I got one more exam, which is on Friday and then HOLIDAYS! :D The much awaited Holidays! haha! :D :D :D :D
So it's Tuesday, The Tech Tuesday on my Blog! :D I know it's almost over, but hey! it's NOT YET OVEr! :P What I have got to share today with you people is DOSBOX. So have you people heard of it before? I guess some of you might have, but most of you haven't. Let me do a little briefing for you all then! :)
DOSBox is a DOS-emulator that uses the SDL-library which makes DOSBox very easy to port to different platforms. DOSBox has already been ported to many different platforms, such as Windows, BeOS, Linux, MacOS X. Don't confuse yourself if you don't get what is a SDL-Library, etc. Just understand that it is an emulator of DOS. What I mean by emulator is that, any software which provides platform replica of one kind on another platform of altogether different kind is called an emulator. If you people have played Contra Shattered Soldier or Tekken 3(PS Version) on the PC, then you must be knowing that you used a PS Emulator. A PS Emulator was used since those games were for PS and we were trying to run them on PC. So we needed our PC to behave as PS for the game so that the games are unable to know that they are not running on PS, rather PC! Don't call it cheating please!(Though, it's nothing else than that in crude sense. Hahahahaha! :D) So a DOS-Emulator runs DOS inside your Windows, so what it calls for? CHEERS! :D hahahaha! :D
Technical :P :P :P - DOSBox also emulates CPU:286/386 realmode/protected mode, Directory FileSystem/XMS/EMS, Tandy/Hercules/CGA/EGA/VGA/VESA graphics, a SoundBlaster/Gravis Ultra Sound card for excellent sound compatibility with older games.
You can "re-live" the good old days with the help of DOSBox, it can run plenty of the old classics that don't run on your new computer! DOSBox is totally free of charge and OpenSource, that means it is legal to download and install it without paying for it so don't worry :) Why is it said that you can relive the good old days is the fact that certain super-cool games were made during the era of 1980s which no longer run on our systems being modern, and our Operating Systems being too modern for them too, for example the Windows 7. So DOSBOX comes to the rescue in such cases.
For example, in our college, they still teach us the programming basics of C and C++ in that age-old compiler, Borland Turbo C++. Since it doesn't run on Windows 7 natively(though it runs in some cases when you find a copy that is cracked to run on Windows 7), you can run it using DOSBOX. A special problem exists with those too old Graphics which are not supported by Windows 7. Thus we need DOS to run such Graphics Programs(Made using graphics.h header file). So again we find DOSBOX application.
Now the bigger thing. Above all, Why am I sharing DOSBOX on my blog? We have evolved to Windows 7, who needs that age-old crap? Well I DO! :P Just like I cited a few examples, they are plenty more, although let's restrain ourselves from discussing more applications. Let's turn our attention majorly to DOSBOX.
Certain screenshots I found on Google that show that, YES! YOU CAN RELIVE THE GOOD OLD DAYS! :D
Now let's get back to our discussion again! :) I like DOSBOX since I was able to play Road Fighter again due to it. Moreover, as I Said, the Computer Graphics course of our college still teaches us that no-longer-in-use graphics, so I had to make the programs using DOSBOX only. I was out of choice. Though most of this work can be done using Windows XP too, but the performance on native platform is always better. The next thing is that, since my computer RAM is 8GB and if I would use WinXP 64-Bit to support it, you know that would be foolish since WinXP 64-bit SUCKS BIGTIME! >_< So in any case I want Windows 7 on my PC and next, I can;t do without DOSBOX either. The main advantage of DOSBOX is that it's simple and easy to use and moreover it doesn't use too much resources either. Also, it is just a few MB(It took 4.49 MB on my PC) LOL!! :D
So what are you waiting for? It is safe to use, so go ahead and try it! :) Do read the manual, I'm not providing instructions here. Though if you people like, you may comment and I'll do it next time! :) I would try to find some legitimate links to download the DOS games too and if successful would share them on Saturday! :)
Now, let me take a leave my friends. I'm extremely tired after the day's tussle with the exam. So see you all later. Have a great evening, or day, whatever on your side! :D All comments and suggestions are always welcomed. Feel free to comment! :)
