One Love and Heal My Wounds - Musical Monday

This week is quite busy. I have 4 exams this week. Phew! But well, I can cope up! :D :D Have fun listening these 2 nice songs! :)

"One Love" by Blue

Lyrics

Yeah alright, it's kind a funny how life can change
Can flip 180 in a matter of days
Sometimes love works in mysterious ways
One day you wake up, gone without a trace

I refused to give up
I refused to give in
(Yeah)
You're my everything
I don't wanna give up
I don't wanna give in, oh so
Everybody sing

One love for the mother's pride
One love for the times we cried
One love gotta stay alive
I will survive

One love for the city streets
One love for the hip-hop beats
One love, oh, I do believe
One love is all we need

Late at night I'm still wide awake
Feel this is far more than I can take
I felt my heart could never break
(Never break)
Now I know that's one big mistake

I refused to give up
I refused to give in, ohh now
You're my everything
I don't wanna give up
I don't wanna give in, oh no
Everybody sing

One love for the mother's pride
One love for the times we cried
One love gotta stay alive
I will survive

One love for the city streets
One love for the hip-hop beats
One love, oh, I do believe
(One love)
One love is all we need

That's right, baby, just love me, love me, love me
Baby, just hold me, hold me, hold me
Oh, love me, love me, love me, ooh, one love

Baby, just love me, love me, love me
Baby, just hold me, hold me, hold me
Oh, love me, love me, love me, ooh

One love for the mother's pride
One love for the times we cried
One love gotta stay alive
(Ohh)
I will survive

One love for the city streets
One love for the hip-hop beats
(One love)
One love, oh, I do believe
(One love)
One love is all we need

One love for the mother's pride
One love for the times we cried
One love gotta stay alive
(Ohh yeah)
I will survive

One love for the city streets
(One love)
One love for the hip-hop beats
(One love)
One love, oh, I do believe
(One love)
One love is all we need

"Heal My Wounds" by Poets of the Fall

Lyrics

I burn to make you understand
One wrong word and it all may come crashing down
For the fates are devious by heart
They envy you your dreams, so they'll let you drown

And there is no why, there is no how, it's like the sky, just one free flow
But you're here right now, and this is your show, so take a bow, cos the show is on right...

Here and now with all dreams realized
Would you choose still more time to do
Don't fall down when it's time to arise
No-one else can heal your wounds

Once again taboo becomes your law
What you want seems taken by another tide turning
Away from our flower field where we used to lay beneath the sky,
riding dreams to some other side

Do they burn, the wishes whispered, like secrets, they yearn, just to be heard
I'm done with questions, I have no answers, the choice is yours, cos the show is on right...

Here and now...

The bigger the lies
The more they want to believe them
And like a vice
Hold on to what they believe in

Here and now with all dreams realized
Would you choose still more time to do
Don't fall down when it's time to arise
No-one else can heal your wounds

Here and now with all dreams realized
Would you choose still more time to do
Don't fall down cos I need you to rise
No-one else can heal my wounds

P.S. - I scheduled this post on Sunday! :) All comments and suggestions welcomed. Have a great day and week up ahead! :)

News from the Gaming World

Hey all! :) 2 out of 8 exams over today! LOL! I still got 6 more to go. How are you all doing my dear readers? I'm doing just great! :) Lately I saw that my blog views for May have been sky-rocketing more than 14000 visitors! That's superb to know, isn't it! :D Thank you all!! ^_^

I was really bored. This exam season gonna be a bit long ending at 8th of June! Phew! If I wouldn't post till then, it would be bad I guess! So thought to say a hello to all my readers out there! :) I received certain e-mails regarding the news from the gaming world. I thought it's best to talk about games since it most relaxing thing! Hahahaha! :D And before I forget! Let me thank to all those who liked my article on File-Locking and Antivirus. I appreciate all the feedback I got. Thank you all! ^_^

So back to the topic, rather let's start the topic now! hahaha! :D There are 2 NEW games around the block, Max Payne 3 and Diablo 3. Diablo is released( I guess! :O ). I have played their earlier versions, with Diablo being more spell-bounding than Max Payne! hahaha! :D Diablo is big and needs more involvement, and time, though Max Payne needed less time and could be easily finished even! :P And hey! Do you guys and girls know yet or not?! Hitman Absolution is set to release this November. I don't remember the exact date, but I read on Hitman's Official Facebook Page on May 10th, they announced it's release date, somewhere in November! :D I'm kinda all set to get my hands on that game! haha!: D

Meanwhile, let's talk about Diablo. Diablo is a dark fantasy/horror-themed action role-playing game developed by Blizzard North and released by Blizzard Entertainment on December 31, 1996. Wooooo that's old! :O LOL! I have played both the installments 1 and 2 of Diablo with their expansion packs and they were amazing! :D Now Diablo III is around the corner and I'm getting restless. Damn it! I'm a hardcore gamer! LOL! :D You may like o check out the Wallpapers of the game Diablo III that are just breath-taking! :O :D :D :D :D CLICK HERE for the wallpapers from official site! :D So back to the discussion. The latest news about the game is that Diablo III Amazon's most preordered PC game ever!! YES! You read it right! (The news said - Blizzard's action RPG continues to set new records of prerelease anticipation ahead of the official launch May 15). I know it's old, but hey! It is released! LOL! Diablo III isn't just Blizzard's most preordered effort ever; it's also Amazon's most preordered PC game of all time. I must check if I can run it on my PC and if not I WILL UPGRADE THE PC FOR THIS ONE! hahaha! :D Meanwhile, I'm playing Prototype, another awesome game! :)

Set in the fictional Kingdom of Khanduras, located in the world of Sanctuary, Diablo has the player take control of a lone hero battling to rid the world of Diablo, the Lord of Terror. Beneath the town of Tristram, the player journeys through sixteen dungeon levels, ultimately entering Hell itself in order to face Diablo.

An expansion pack, entitled Diablo: Hellfire, was released in 1997, although it was not created by Blizzard Entertainment. In 1998 Blizzard released Diablo for the PlayStation. this version featured direct control of the main character using the PlayStation controller. This was followed by a sequel, Diablo II, in 2000, and a third game, Diablo III, was released on May 15, 2012.

Diablo III Official Website! :D

Okay so the other news was about Max Payne III being a cool, no being a CooooooooooooooL game! LOL! :D Max Payne is a third-person shooter video game developed by Finnish developers Remedy Entertainment and published by Gathering of Developers in July 2001 for Microsoft Windows. Anyways, the screenshots and trailers suggest that the graphics are breath-taking, OMG! You are now beginning to make me desperate to play the game! the sooner the better! LOL! :D Whatever, the response to the game is quite nice, and if you were monitoring the news before the release, you would say, "Damn! Internet creates a lot of hype!" Haha! :D Let's see how the game turn out to be for ME! :D I'm becoming restless to play them! Oh where's the news? The news is the game is making remarkable success in the gaming world! :)

Max Payne Official Site HERE

Though I expect both the games to be fabulous, let me finish up with the exams so that I will see it myself! Hahaha! :D Though due to violence, blood, gore and sexual content that occurs in these games, they become unfit for kids! :O The kids therefore miss super action of such games! :/ LOL! Okay, I'm going off now, I must study!! These are final exams! haha! All comments and suggestions welcomed! Good day all! Thanks for your time! :)

My Chemical Romance - "Teenagers" & Linkin Park - "In The End" - Musical Monday

Hello All! And welcome the new week! :D It's Monday - MUSICAL MONDAY! And my final exams for this 4th semester of mine start today. That means I'm gonna be super busy from now on till 8th of June when my exams will be over. SO pardon me if I don't post much(I didn't post much last week too just because of exams only! Sorry! I was busy preparing! :/) or if I am late in visiting back. Though I would try to be consistent! Anyways, off to college for my exam, wish me luck! Good day all and enjoy these two songs! :)

My Chemical Romance - "Teenagers"

Lyrics:

They're gonna clean up your looks
With all the lies in the books
To make a citizen out of you
Because they sleep with a gun
And keep an eye on you, son
So they can watch all the things you do

Because the drugs never work
They gonna give you a smirk
'Cause they got methods of keeping you clean
They gonna rip up your heads
Your aspirations to shreds
Another cog in the murder machine

They say that teenagers scare the living shit out of me
They could care less as long as someone'll bleed
So darken your clothes or strike a violent pose
Maybe they'll leave you alone, but not me

The boys and girls in the clique
The awful names that they stick
You're never gonna fit in much, kid
But if you're troubled and hurt
What you got under your shirt

We'll make them pay for the things that they did

They say that teenagers scare the living shit out of me
They could care less as long as someone'll bleed
So darken your clothes or strike a violent pose
Maybe they'll leave you alone, but not me
Ohh yeah!

They say that teenagers scare the living shit out of me
They could care less as long as someone'll bleed
So darken your clothes or strike a violent pose
Maybe they'll leave you alone, but not me
All together now!

Teenagers scare the living shit out of me
They could care less as long as someone'll bleed
So darken your clothes or strike a violent pose
Maybe they'll leave you alone, but not me

Teenagers scare the living shit out of me
They could care less as long as someone'll bleed
So darken your clothes or strike a violent pose
Maybe they'll leave you alone, but not me

Linkin Park - "In The End"

Lyrics:

It starts with
One thing I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind I designed this rhyme
To explain in due time

All I know
Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away

It's so unreal
Didn't look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on, but didn't even know
Or wasted it all just to watch you go

I kept everything inside
And even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be
A memory of a time when

I tried so hard and got so far
But in the end it doesn't even matter
I had to fall to lose it all
But in the end it doesn't even matter

One thing, I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind I designed this rhyme
To remind myself how

I tried so hard
In spite of the way you were mocking me
Acting like I was part of your property
Remembering all the times you fought with me
I'm surprised

It got so far
Things aren't the way they were before
You wouldn't even recognize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then
But it all comes back to me in the end

You kept everything inside
And even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be
A memory of a time when

I tried so hard and got so far
But in the end it doesn't even matter
I had to fall to lose it all
But in the end it doesn't even matter

I've put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
And for all this
There's only one thing you should know

I've put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
And for all this
There's only one thing you should know

I tried so hard and got so far
But in the end it doesn't even matter
I had to fall to lose it all
But in the end it doesn't even matter

Comparison of Free Antivirus - Random Wednesday

Hello all my dear readers! :D I hope everyone is doing great. Happy Wednesday! ^_^

In Reference to this post of mine, I know I had to make the current post yesterday, but I was too busy with my finals on my head that please pardon me for being unable to post. Why am I telling and referring to my earlier post? The reason is I'm doing this comparison because there are people dicey about using which antivirus on their old systems. Though the results and verdicts I give for each post apply well on both new and old PCs, I give special attention to old ones. But don't worry, new PC users can also benefit from this post. Telling this was important since people try to search a lot for free antiviruses. My this post can help you find which antivirus is good, although I'm specific in context to the Old PCs, but I will add lines for the newer ones too so that this post can be helpful to all! :) SO let's start our today's discussion buddies! :)

So we're talking about antiviruses. With proliferation of internet, viruses and those psychos making viruses have grown in large numbers! Security is becoming a major concern for all sort of developers and everyone is trying to add certain such feature in their software somehow! (Example, Online Scanners in Web-Browsers and E-mail service Providers). The reason why you landed here and reading my post is also your security concern and with inflation already burning a PIT, leave alone a hole(LOL!) in our pockets, a free security software is like rain in the desert! haha! :D

Discussion #1 - Free v/s Paid

If we compare the free v/s paid antivirus software in general to start with, let me make it clear don't think that paid is always the best. Though the best ones are paid only, but not all paid antivirus are worth their price. For an example let's talk about BitDefender and Webroot, both are pioneers and have been on the top positions in security services since quite sometime. Both are worth the price, with Bitdefender being my personal favorite! :D Next if we talk about Norton Antivirus, the one that is preferred in many Asian countries, let me first make it clear why it receives so much attention when better Antiviruses are available - It gives away itself as a free software with new PCs, is available as trials on most widely used Tech-CDs, etc. When it comes to security, Norton is a good antivirus no doubt in that, but I hate it. The reason if it thinks something is a virus, it straightaway deletes it. Although a good practice to be secure, but it deleted certain important files of mine WHICH WERE NOT VIRUS! >_< Now I guess that's enough of the reason to hate Norton! Duh! Moreover Norton is "ssssssllllllooooowwwww" not just slow! >_< It eats up the resources as if it were craving for them! Bitdefender on the other hand manages them quite efficiently and is not much of an intrusion in your work just because all your computer resources are being eaten by something like Norton! LOL! Next if talk about the virus detection rates and security levels, certain free antiviruses such as Microsoft Security Essentials and AVG have good enough detection and security that you don't need to go for a paid version! They are sufficient in case you are not going berserk on your internet, downloading all sort of illegal stuff that might be stuffed with malware!

Verdict - It is not always that paid is better than free. Neither all paid software are worth the price. If you think your computer is at high levels of security risks, you use internet for a lot of downloading, a lot of online transactions are made through your PC, etc. go for a paid and good antivirus/total security service such as Bitdefender or Webroot. But if you are a general home user with not much of security threats, a simple everyday internet user, not much online transactions, etc. antivirus such as Microsoft Security Essentials, Avast!, AVG or Avira will fulfill your requirements.

Discussion #2 - Knowing your Use

There are certain things you need to enlist with yourself before seeing which way you need to go. First and foremost is to understand the fact - Why and for what you use your computer? For how long? How many times?

Why and What - You need to know the use of your PC. Rather is it a PC or not! haha! I mean if it is one computer for the whole family, you'll be needing to know what are their primary uses too so that you can make a better security plan. For example, if you do a lot of online shopping, I would say prefer Linux over Windows! Else, use a good firewall and Internet Security Software such as BitDefender Total Security, or Norton Internet Security. Any PC doing online transactions must be guarded by a firewall, spyware guard, etc. Next, if you do a lot of downloading but no transactions, then identify what you download. Downloading and browsing a lot of illegal stuff, which includes, Pirated Software, Cracked Games, Porn, etc. means you are at a greater risk of virus attack than others. In many online surveys, if you are a regular reader of the tech-magazines or forums, it has been seen that number of PCs being infected with virus were great for those which were used to download and install pirated games and software, and the number of infected PCs was sky-rocketing for those who used it to browse, search, and download Porn. Porn has been identified as one of the major hub of distributing the malware around the people because they camouflage in them crap and people fall for they bait! In such a case using a good Antivirus is highly recommended, although a firewall too is recommended because sometimes spyware or hackers can be watching and taking away your important data while you think you are having fun! Moreover, with social networking gaining much importance they have not been able to save themselves from the eyes of cyber-criminals. People have reported their accounts getting hijacked. So internet surfing is not safe at all. You'll need a good antivirus or firewall. Although if you are not downloading/browsing illegal stuff, a free software is quite sufficient for you! :)
How much and How many times - If you do a lot of transactions, you need a paid Internet Security, if you do that quite less, like once in a few months, then a free one like Comodo is the best for you. If do a lot of browsing/downloading, a free antivirus is fine for you. If you do a lot of UNSAFE browsing/downloading, you need a paid one! A general user requirements can be fulfilled by free antivirus such as Microsoft and free Firewall such as Comodo.

Verdict: You need to know your use of computer first before knowing the requirements of the software for yourself! The more dangerous use asks for a better antivirus. In heavy usage of risky things, Paid is a better option. For a general user, a free alternative does all good.

Discussion #3 - Microsoft Security Essentials

It takes very little effort to get going with MSE. Microsoft politely does not opt you in to the program's customer experience improvement program; you must choose to opt in or stay out of it before you can finish the installation. It also lets you choose whether to run the Windows Defender firewall, and whether to run a scan once installation is complete, although both of those are opt-out.

Microsoft Security Essentials 2 uses both definition-file and real-time defenses against viruses and spyware, and also offers rootkit protection. Along with the quick scan and the full scan, there's a Custom scan option that lets users select specific folders or drives to scan. It doesn't allow for customizing the type of scan used. For example, you're not going to be able to choose to scan only for rootkits or heuristics, as you can with other security programs. However, you can set USB keys and other external devices to automatically get scanned. The program installs a context-menu option for on-the-fly scanning in Windows Explorer, too.

Security Essentials is basically a good set-it-and-forget-it security program, but if you want more options and better results from a lightweight security option, Panda Cloud Antivirus Free Edition 1.3 is the safer bet.

I personally use MSE only, and I'm quite happy with it. It has a good catching rate so I feel protected with it. Moreover updates and regular scan prompts are good reminders to check that yes my system is fine. I like MSE, and recommend it to all! :D

Verdict: Microsoft Security Essentials will protect you, and it will generally do it well. However, its impact on system performance could be improved, and it's still a bit light in the tool belt. So it is light on resources and a good alternative if you have a GENUINE WINDOWS! :P But a bigger thing is, if you have some 1.5GHz PC with atleast 512MB RAM, only then use MSE. Else according to me, your system would give a sluggish response.

Discussion #4 - Avast! Free Antivirus

Next, we come to talk about Avast! Free Antivirus. Avast! is a good and well known free antivirus software. Looking to compete with both paid and free security suites, Avast wants to create a unified approach to your computer security. Long gone are the days of the quirky interface. Avast is accessible and robust, with an impressive list of free features and strong, though hardly stellar, performance benchmarks. For the newer version, I mean the latest one of the Avast!, it is said that it is an antivirus with new and improved cannons! haha! :D The interface is good looking and loaded with features. Avast has improved its installation process so it's faster than before. It's not the fastest on the market, not by a longshot, but a standard installation takes about three minutes, sounds competitive to that of MSE, right?

If we consider the features, I would rather take it from CNET since they are pioneers in Tech-Reviews, so I can give you people 100% correct info from the professionals:

Avast 2012, aka Avast 7, includes several new features that directly impact your security. One of the biggest changes is a hybrid update technology that pushes out updates in real time. Because a full database update isn't required, Avast users will get their security updates much faster than before. Full database updates will also be pushed out, just not as frequently.

Another important security change introduces a file reputation system for evaluating downloads. This tech has existed for a couple of years in paid security suites like Norton, Kaspersky, and Bitdefender, but Avast is the first free antivirus to offer it. It leverages community data from Avast's enormous active user base to help determine if a file is safe.

Avast's WebRep browser add-on for instant Web site safety evaluation has been extended to work with Safari, and it will also now check for fake certificates. Faked security certificates were an unexpected problem last year, demonstrating how fragile Web security protocol could be.

Overall Avast is no longer that sluggish or slow antivirus. I don't say anything about the time taken in scanning the system though. But when it comes to the system performance as a whole, Avast! is not hampering anything! :) Light and Cool! :D

Verdict: Avast continues to push the envelope of top-shelf free security features with hybrid update tech, file reputation analysis, and more. It's independent benchmarks are a bit weak, but more than 150 million people trust Avast to keep them safe. So Avast! is a healthy choice although I still prefer MSE more than Avast :) According to me, if you have an old PC(less than 1.5GHz Processor and less than 400MB RAM), Avast is the best catch. It is because it is lightest free antivirus, as per the resource use is concerned. Although the scanning time is higher than others, but the choice is yours. A sluggish computer could be more irritating than one that's sluggish only during the scans!

Discussion #5 - Avira Free Antivirus

Avira Antivirus, well I used it a few years back, though no longer. No! I have no grudges against it, it is quite a good antivirus. Actually my PC is a shared family PC, so the things installed are as per the mutual consent, so I guess you got the point why Avira ain't installed! LOL! Anyways, getting back to our prior discussion, Avira is a great deal for free antivirus. I don't talk about the Internet Security though, I'm talking only about the Free version.

Talking about features, let's delve into Avira's suite! :)

The WebGuard feature, available only if you install the Avira toolbar, takes a more aggressive approach to detecting sites that could be hosting malware before they load on your computer. This is not unlike Avira's competitors. However, for the performance cost to the browser for a toolbar, search result ratings would be a nice compensation. Too bad they're not offered.

The scanner checks for virus, Trojans, rootkits, and adware. There's a generic threat removal engine, but Avira--like many security suites--is much better at preventing threats from infecting you, rather than removing ones you've already got. Did you get the point? The thing is it's real time protection that is detection of a threat that is new is better than finding some virus that has already infected filesystem.

If a problem is discovered, a one-click Fix problems button appears at the top of the Status window. Click it, and even if the fix is something as simple as reactivating a deactivated module, the program will do it for you.

Verdict: An aggressive redesign aimed at making its best-known suite more accessible than before, Avira Free Antivirus 12 combines fast scans with above-average protection for a solid security combo. If you are an old PC user, I don't recommend using Avira. Though it's light on resources, but it's minimum requirements are a bit high. So if you have a PC with processor greater than 1.7GHz and RAM greater than 728MB, only then use Avira.

Discussion #6 - AVG Free Antivirus

The never-ending mantra chanted by security suite vendors sounds a lot like "faster scans, easier to use, better performance," and AVG has released a new version that it says accomplishes all three. Certainly, the scans are faster, it does install more quickly, and some tweaks to the interface have made it easier to view. Two new core security changes will make you safer, too.

The installation time is longest in all the Antiviruses I have discussed so far. It takes atleast 5 minutes to complete it and moreover the boot-time of the system increases after AVG is installed on your system. Though still used by so many people around the world, I don't AVG is bad, but it certainly is not the best!

The interface is goo and easy to use and understand. AVG has placed icons for its security components in a central pane. Double-click on one to access more information and basic configuration settings for each specific tool. Advanced settings are available under Tools on the menu bar at the top of the window.

AVG 2012 includes a couple of solid changes to make you safer. The first is a patent-pending technique for identifying one of the most obnoxious threats to ever reach your computer: the fake antivirus. If you're unfamiliar, these programs purport to be an antivirus, or a Web-based antivirus scan. Once they install on your computer, the only way to get rid of the infection is to "buy" their license. They're also related to the ransomware infections, which don't even bother with the effort to pretend to be an antivirus. AVG 2012 will block both of them.

The LinkScanner tool has been improved to watch out for more dynamic code, which is essential in the security game because threats are mutating at such a rapid rate. Meanwhile, premium users get the new AVG Accelerator option, which optimizes your Internet connection to speed up downloads and rendering. It currently works on two sites: YouTube, and you can see its impact when pausing and unpausing videos; and Download.com binary downloads. The accelerator protocol was developed internally at AVG.

AVG now includes a monitoring tool that automatically warns you when Firefox, Chrome, or Internet Explorer consumes too much memory. Called AVG Advisor and in all of the AVG suites, it opens a small pop-up and asks you if you'd like to restart your browser. There's no way to "force" it to activate, although if you open up a couple dozen tabs, wait a few minutes, and then open another dozen or so, it ought to kick in.

Verdict: AVG Free 2012's renewed focus on performance keeps scans zippy, but struggles with slowing down your boot time and too many false positives. not in any case would I recommend AVG to old PC users. According to me, you must have atleast 1.9 or rather 2.0 GHz Processor and 1GB RAM to run AVG, though I recommend more than 1.5GB RAM. The antivirus is good when we talk about detection and stuff but it is a bit slow so I cannot recommend it to old PC users. AVG Anti-Virus Free continues to offer an excellent if not perfect level of security, and is well-worth a serious shot at being your go-to suite. To new ones, AVG is another interesting one, though I would say use Avira rather. :)

Discussion #7 - Panda Cloud Antivirus Free Edition

Panda, the cutest animal around the block these days?! LOL! Why I said that? because in antiviruses, Panda Cloud Antivirus has the most beautiful interface! :D

When it originally debuted, Panda Cloud Antivirus was notable as a free security solution for two reasons: Panda traded on its reputation as a solid security suite vendor making its first foray into the realm of freeware, and the program attained its goal of freeing up system resources by putting much of the program's heavy lifting in the cloud. Now we can add a third reason to the list: it's now known as an effective alternative to the security powerhouses.

Since I haven't used Panda much, I cannot give my reviews about it, so I'm gonna resort to what is said on the internet about Panda. When you open Cloud Antivirus, the main window lets you know whether you're safe or not with a big red or green icon. Cloud Antivirus works as other antivirus solutions do, offering a Quick Scan and a Custom scan for specific folder, files, and drives, but its ancillary features are exceptionally light. You can opt out of contributing anonymous data to the cloud, but that also opts you out of automatic threat management. There's a network connection proxy option should you need it, and a reporting feature that will show you what kind of threats have been detected and removed from your computer. You can filter the report by All, Last 24 hours, Last Week, or Last Month, and there's a Recycle Bin pane from which you can recover a false positive, should you need it. The modest level of tweaks and customizations have been hidden behind an obnoxious "flipping" screen that cheesily rotates when you need to access it, but they do provide choices in a clean UI that weren't available before.

Verdict: From all that I read on internet about Panda Cloud Antivirus, it is one of the good Free-Antivirus Alternatives available and the tests reveal it is the fastest one too! It has unmatchable security and detection of viruses, the reason being Panda has been a good paid antivirus since a long time now! The reason for it not being the best alternative is that again it is good in detecting not in neutralizing since it's the free version(Paid is good at both). Moreover it provides basic protection features as a free version though Avast gives you more! :) If you have a good processor with some 1.6GHz but a low RAM like 400MB or less, Panda can run well on that too! So for old PC users, Panda is another alternative.

Final Notes and Remarks; Conclusion

Currently I'm using Avast on my one PC and Microsoft Security Essentials on the other. On yet another one I use Bitdefender though. In free antiviruses, I would say go for Avast! if you use an old PC. Go for Microsoft Security Essentials or Avira, if you are using a new PC. If you want paid protection, BitDefender is the best.

So thanks all for reading the post. I hope it helps you all decide what's the best for you. Have a great day and the rest of the week. I'll be getting busier and busier. From 21st May to 8th June I have got my final theory exams so I'll not be available much. So hope to see you all soon! :) I'll be coming here now and then to visit my visitors back, or to post if I get time. But full time availability like before will come after 8th June! haha! :D Good day! Comments and suggestions welcomed always! :)

Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word by Elton John and Famous Last Words by My Chemical Romance - Musical Monday

Hey all!
It's Monday or Musical Monday to be specific. My Final Theory exams for this semester start from 21st, that's next week! Phew! This is gonna be a bit too busy week followed by 3 more busy weeks of exams! Anyways, for the time being, it's a new week I hope it goes on superb for you all! Have a great day! ^_^

Sorry seems to be the Hardest Word - Elton John, ft. Blue

What have I got to do to make you love me
What have I got to do to make you care
What do I do when lightning strikes me
And I wake to find that you're not there

What do I do to make you want me
What have I got to do to be heard
What do I say when it's all over
And sorry seems to be the hardest word

It's sad, so sad
It's a sad, sad situation
And it's getting more and more absurd
It's sad, so sad
Why can't we talk it over
Oh it seems to me
That sorry seems to be the hardest word

What do I do to make you love me
What have I got to do to be heard
What do I do when lightning strikes me
What have I got to do
What have I got to do
When sorry seems to be the hardest word

Famous Last Words - My Chemical Romance

Now I know that I can't make you stay
But where's your heart?
But where's your heart?
But where's your?

And I know there's nothing I could say
To change that part
To change that part
To change

So many bright lights to cast a shadow, but can I speak?
Well, is it hard understanding I'm incomplete?
A life that's so demanding, I get so weak
A love that's so demanding, I can't speak

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you could say can stop me going home

Can you see my eyes are shining bright
?Cause I'm out here on the other side
Of a jet black hotel mirror and I'm so weak
Is it hard understanding I'm incomplete?
A love that's so demanding I get weak

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you could say can stop me going home

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you could say can stop me going home

These bright lights have always blinded me
These bright lights have always blinded me
I say

I see you lying next to me
With words I thought I'd never speak
Awake and unafraid
Asleep or dead

(How can I see, I see you lying)
'Cause I see you lying next to me
(How can I see, I see you lying)
With words I thought I'd never speak
(How can I see, I see you lying)
Awake and unafraid
(How can I see, I see you lying)
Asleep or dead!

'Cause I see you lying next to me
With words I thought I'd never speak
Awake and unafraid
Asleep or dead!

'Cause I see you lying next to me
With words I thought I'd never speak
Awake and unafraid
Asleep or dead!

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
(Or dead!)
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home
(Or dead!)

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
(Or dead!)
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home
(Or dead!)

I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
(Or dead!)
Honey if you stay, I'll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home

Happy Mother's Day - Super Sunday

Hello everybody! :) How are my dear readers doing?! :D

It's not just a Sunday or a Super Sunday today, it's something bigger than that today. It's Mother's Day! :D The day dedicated to all the mothers in the world. If I try to define the word mother, I would say, "Mother is that incarnation of god, who bears immense pain and trouble to give us birth. She continues to share her happiness with her child by fulfilling all his/her desires even if that means no room for her own desires!"

Mother's Day is a celebration that honors mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in March, April, or May. It complements Father's Day, a celebration honoring fathers.

Celebrations of mothers and motherhood occur throughout the world. Many of these trace back to ancient festivals, like the Greek cult to Cybele, the Roman festival of Hilaria, or the Christian Mothering Sunday celebration. However, the modern holiday is an American invention and not directly descended from these celebrations. Despite this, in some countries Mother's Day has become synonymous with these older traditions.

Why I call mother as God is simple. She is the one who does everything for the child. She bears her child in her womb, sharing everything she eats or drinks with the young one growing inside. She takes care of him/her night and day. It is also said that the pain a mother bears during the birth of the child is many times the pain that a human body can survive. That certainly shows her pure love for the child.

In India, Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May. In India mothers are considered as god to their children. The Indians do not celebrate the occasion as a religious one, but do their best to thank their mothers for care and love. Mother's day 2012 is being celebrated on 13th May. That is a tradition in India to give a highest position to mothers. As the spiritual background is so effective in India so Indians celebrates this day with lots of respect to their mothers. I am proud to be an India! :D

I would like to bow respectfully before all the mothers around the globe to thank them for all their love because of which we breathe today. If you weren't there, not only we would have been non-existent, but, our lives would not have been liveable! I love my mother more than any other person in the whole world.

Today's scenario sometimes makes me think that how the actions of current generation badly hurts their parents. I would like to ask all of them to pay respect to their parents always. Maybe they scold us, but their anger is filled with love. They cannot take it that their child is going the wrong way or is in trouble. That's why they end up being angry and sometimes scold us. Please don't take it that bad, they are your parents! It's their duty to see to it that their child turns out to be a good person in future. So I would like to appeal to all of you, always respect your parents. That would be the highest gift you can give to them. There is nothing the world you could do to repay whatever they did for you, so atleast on these special days make them feel to be the most special persons in your life!

Some great lines I would like to quote here, I found these on various websites:

When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts.

A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child. Being a full-time mother is one of the highest salaried jobs... since the payment is pure love.

The heart of a home is a mother
Whose love is warm and true,
And home has always been "sweet home"
With a wonderful mother like you!

"M" is for the Million things she gave me,
"O" means Only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the Tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her Heart of purest gold,
"E" is for her Eyes, with love-light shining,
..."R" means Right, and Right she'll always be.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Mother's Day Poems

"I love you,"
said a great mother.
"I love you for what you are
knowing so well what you are.
And I love you more yet, child,
deeper yet than ever, child,
for what you are going to be,
knowing so well you are going far,
knowing your great works are ahead,
ahead and beyond,
yonder and far over yet."

by Carl Sandburg

The family
is like a garden
with joy
for all to share,
With tender, growing blossoms
that thrive on love
and care,
And when
the flowers are gathered
for a very special day,
They make
a bright and beautiful
happiness bouquet.

I know a place that's paradise
For "gamesters" of all sorts~
For young and old competitors,
For in~and~outdoor sports.

The tournaments get under way
Each Saturday at dawn~
With board games on the carpet
And baseball on the lawn.

There's poker played for bottle caps
And football just for kicks,
Plus every other kind of thrill
From jacks to pick-up-sticks.

This living room Las Vegas,
This backyard Astrodome
Is always where the action is
And best of all~it's home!

Thank you everyone for reading. I again would like to thank all the mothers around to world to make our lives liveable! Good day everyone! I hope you have a great Sunday! :)

Antivirus for Old PC? - Fromrum Friday

Hey all my dear readers! How are you all doing?! :D I hope well! :) :)

I had been a bit too busy for the whole week that's why couldn't post anything from Tuesday to Wednesday. Got over with my Final Practicals yesterday only, so back to posting today! haha! :D But! My final theory start from 21st, so I may again go unavailable then. Final theory exams are the most important you see. Anyways, today is Friday, FROMRUM FRIDAY if we speak the Toxifier's way! ;) haha! :D What I have got to discuss with you people today? Antivirus for old PCs.

Actually a good friend of mine asked me 3 days ago if I could suggest her a free antivirus that could work fine on her old laptop. She had a 2.24 GHz Processor with 224 MB RAM. Sounds like Celeron, right? Anyways, I was quite confused. The RAM is a bit too less but she said it used to run Kaspersky earlier, to which I am astonished! Well Windows XP shouldn't work fine according to me, how was she running Kaspersky on it then?! :O

Still, I'd to find a way to help her out. Though I suggested to go for a RAM upgrade, she is reluctant to do it because she is intending to buy a new laptop soon so doesn't wishes to "waste" anymore money on it. I have exhaustively searched the internet(LOL! I know it's impossible with a database so huge and, enormous rather to perform an exhaustive search on the internet, but it was exhaustive since I were exhausted after the search! LOL!).

I have found a couple of good solutions. I was quite happy to see I wasn't searching a problem which nobody is having! LOL! I found so many people with the same problem. So it was like, "Seems to be easier then!". The solutions consist of both, those that mean use of antivirus, and others that mean being a smarter user.

Solution #1 - Hardware

The first and the "most easy way out" solution is - upgrade the Hardware! Celeron or any 2.24 GHz processor is fine. But the problem is RAM! 224MB RAM? Well, to be honest if you want a fully functional XP(Old PC and 7? What a disaster you wish to invoke on your PC?! :P) you need atleast 512 MB RAM. Service Pack 2 no longer works for 99% users even if they are using the old PC. Everyone needs the Service Pack 3. It needs atleast 512MB RAM to be fully functional. So my first solution is to upgrade RAM. If you have a 256 MB RAM, buying another won't be that expensive. The problem comes with your motherboard, weather it supports DDR1, DDR2, DDR3, OR SDRAM! :P DDR3, being the latest technology, is supported by new motherboards only, so I doubt weather it will work or not. Moreover it's cheapest of all 3 and available in high capacities and speeds! So first make sure which type of RAM is supported by your PC/laptop.

Verdict - Upgrade RAM! :P

Solution #2 - Operating System

A good solution for many users come out to be is to upgrade their operating system. Don't worry I'm not asking to run Windows 7 in 224MB RAM! :P I mean not using Windows anymore! haha! :D The point is, Linux is quite light on your computer's resources. For example, using Ubuntu, not the latest version, but some older version could be a way out, but the problem then would be for older versions you'll have older browsers. The capability to successfully upgrade Firefox I saw only in Ubuntu 12.04. Anyways, the big thing is system requirements. Ubuntu has always been so light on your system that you might be able to run Ubuntu 12.04, though according to me, it is not advisable because Ubuntu 12.04 needs atleast 384MB RAM. There are also several distributions of Linux that are tailored for smaller machines. Though running Linux means giving up Windows. That further means giving up many Windows applications and games. Since most people these days need PC for internet surfing, file sharing, chatting and other low-on-RAM-&-Processor activities, that excludes gaming, I guess this solution could work out quite well on them. A big thing is, what my experience suggests, 99% people with old PCs don't need it for anything more than I just mentioned. Moreover, Linux is quite good and better than Windows. Secure from Viruses and highly resistant to hacking, Linux is certainly a good choice. That won't even force you to go for a RAM upgrade.

Verdict - If what you're attempting to do can be done with Linux and applications available for Linux, then that's a very lucrative approach. Not only will your machine run much faster than any current version of Windows could allow, but you'll have sidestepped the vast majority of malware issues. Because of Windows' huge market share, almost all malware targets vulnerabilities in Windows. If you're not running Windows, most malware just isn't interested in you.

Solution #3 - Network

If you are in a scenario where you have a low-grade or old PC, and someone, who could allow you, has a good PC with a nice antivirus, then you can periodically scan your PC by connecting it to his or her PC. For some people, the problem is such that their PC at work is sluggish. But, what I've seen is in most work areas these days, the system is on a network. So if you may contact system administrator to go for a periodic virus scan on your PC. For example, you might temporarily share the root of the "C" drive, and then from another PC on your network running anti-malware software, connect to that share and run the scan. This could be slow, and not all anti-malware software will do it.

Verdict - Not recommended, but well, Something is better than nothing.

Solution #4 - Updates

Make sure with whatever you got is fully updated. I mean software level. Whatever your system can run successfully, atleast to that point update everything, your operating system and software. The thing is security becoming a major issue of concern these days, it is being taken care of by many developers. So your updated software might have some security tweaks! :) Moreover, Windows security updates have, in most case, made it better only. SO don't think that some news of a sluggish update means you shouldn't update! Bugs are fixed and dealt with. You never know if the security update makes you more secure.

Verdict - An up-to-date system in any regard, be it software or hardware could be a better catch!

Solution #5 - Be Smart(From Ask-Leo)

I'm gonna directly quote this solution from ask-leo.com:

"I know you are, but I need this for completeness. Everything you know about internet safety goes double on this older machine, particularly things like paying attention to what you do, surf and run on this machine - making sure to never run anything even remotely suspicious.

Ultimately, the life of older machines can be extended much longer than most people seem to think. I know I have several that are well past their prime when compared to existing technology. I even have one that's a true workhorse for data storage on my home network.

And it's not running Windows."

Verdict - Know your priorities and list the uses of your machine. That way you can find a solution actually tailored JUST FOR YOU! :) because you cannot be just one person in the whole world with a particular problem. There would be many!

Solution #6 - Firewalls and Internet based/Online Scanners

Certain vendors offer free and effective firewall, such as Comodo. Firewall gets your network secured. Although there is nothing like 100% security, because if some someone has a great mind, someone would have better than that! :P So if the hacker is more intelligent then of course the firewall doesn't stand a chance. But! something is better than nothing in such cases.
Moreover, although for promotional purposes, thus not that effective but still effective, certain vendors offer low-cost or free online scanners that are often in form of toolbar for your Internet Browsers. They can be good against any infected file being downloaded and save you from that.

Verdict - Something is better than nothing when security is concerned!

Solution #7 - A free & light antivirus(Depends on CPU and RAM of your "old" PC)

I couldn't find a better antivirus for such an old PC than Microsoft Security Essentials if you use Genuine Windows :P, else Avast Antivirus. Both of them are light on resources. But sluggish when it comes to scanning the PC. Sometimes it seems like their scanning won't ever finish! LOL! But well both of them have a good virus catching rate. Other free options that are available are not so light that they could run on an old PC. But according to the new PCs specs, they too appear too light! haha! :D So my suggestion for those Old PC users is Avast!. If your processor is also very old like Pentium 3, Avast can be run on it! :) So now you all know an antivirus too. But be cautious, sometimes adding an antivirus to already too slow PCs create a havoc , but on the other hand, sometimes they are a boon since they remove the cluttering viruses. The reason why I didn't say Avira or AVG is that it needs more resources. So if you have something like 512MB RAM with atleast 1.5 GHz CPU, I think Avira or AVG, both are a better choice! :) If you people may like, I'll do a comparison of AVG and Avira this Tuesday. But! Microsoft Security Essentials still remains a good free antivirus for Genuine Windows Users.

Well, that's all I could think of or find. I hope my post helps you people out. Time to tell my friend too that she could find her solution in this post! LOL! All comments and suggestions are welcomed. This is quite a hot issue, so I hope much discussion can be called upon for this one :) See you all soon. Have a great day and weekend is on the door, so have fun! :)
Take care and thank you for spending your valuable time to read my article.

Good day! ^_^

I don't wanna miss a thing & I just died in your arms tonight - Musical Monday

Hey all! It's a new week I hope it goes on superb for you all! Have a great day! ^_^

I don't wanna Miss a Thing - Aerosmith

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Where every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure

Don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby and I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you the sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you baby and I don't want to miss a thing

Lying close to you feeling your heart beating
And I'm wondering what you're dreaming
Wondering if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes and thank God we're together
I just wanna stay with you in this moment forever, forever and ever

I don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby and I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you the sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you baby and I don't want to miss a thing

I don't wanna miss one smile, I don't wanna miss one kiss
I just wanna be with you, right here with you, just like this
I just want to hold you close, feel your heart so close to mine
And just stay here in this moment for all the rest of time

Don't wanna close my eyes, don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby and I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you the sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you baby and I don't want to miss a thing

I don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby and I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you the sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you baby and I don't want to miss a thing

I don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep
Yeah, I don't wanna miss a thing

I just died in your arms Tonight - Cutting Crew

Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must have been something you said
I just died in your arms tonight

I keep looking for something I can't get
Broken hearts lie all around me
And I don't see an easy way to get out of this
Her diary it sits on the bedside table
The curtains are closed, the cats in the cradle
Who would've thought that a boy like me could come to this

Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must've been something you said
I just died in your arms tonight
Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must've been some kind of kiss
I should've walked away, I should`ve walked away
Is there any just cause for feeling like this?
On the surface I'm a name on a list
I try to be discreet, but then blow it again
I've lost and found, it's my final mistake
She's loving by proxy, no give and all take
'cos I've been thrilled to fantasy one too many times

Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must've been something you said
I just died in your arms tonight
Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must been some kind of kiss
I should`ve walked away, I should've walked away

It was a long hot night
She made it easy, she made it feel right
But now it's over the moment has gone
I followed my hands not my head, I knew I was wrong

Oh i, i just died in your arms tonight it must have been somehting you said, i just died ni your arms tonight
Oh i, i just died in your arms tonight it must have been some kind of kiss
I should have walked away, i should have walked away

File Locking Software - Super Sunday

Hey all! :) It's Sunday! Sunday! SUPER SUNDAY! :D How are you all doing?! :D I hope you all are good! :D :D :D My final exams finally start tomorrow! LOL!(I said that last Sunday too?! Oh! Those were my College finals, these are university finals! :P So final finals for this semester! :O) And I'm not excited at all >.> haha! Who would be excited about stupid exams? They are no fun, although they make them to be, bu they don't! huh!

Anyways, let's come back to our Super-Sunday thing! :D So, what I've for you all today with me are 3 File-Encryption or you may say password-protection, or you may also say File-Locking software! :D One of which is completely free. Let me do a comparison of all the three. I have used them. one of those I have used since years altogether now! :D

Easy File Locker 1.4 - My rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Let's first see what the developers got to say:
Easy File Locker is an easy-to-use security software product that can protect your private files and folders. With its great protection, users will not be able to open, read, modify, delete, move, copy the locked files/folders, or even not be able to see it. The hidden files/folders will be totally invisible to all users and to any program. Easy File Locker will keep protecting the files/folders even under Windows Safe Mode. It is designed for protecting files/folders on your local computer. It doesn't change the protected files and folders, it will not slow down the system speeds and it will never have the chance to destroy your data.

Sounds cool as per them. Now the real deal:
Easy File Locker is a free tool for password-protecting files and folders. With it, others can't open, read, modify, copy, or delete your data without your password. Of course, neither can you, so be sure to take the usual (secure) password precautions. The best part is "free". Yes! Perhaps why I loved this software! haha! :D it's light on resources, I mean doesn't need disk space more than KBs, neither eats up RAM or Processor! The software is nice in those terms. I ran it on WinXP Professional, Service Pack 3 ( of course 32-bit! Who uses WinXP 64-bit? It's crap! LOL! Though Win7-64 bit is nice! :) )

Easy File Locker has a very simple interface, just a menu bar and toolbar above the main window, which displayed the protected files as and when added. The toolbar basically duplicates the menu commands, such as Add File, Add Folder, and controls to change passwords, toggle the system's protected status on or off, and other functions. Adding files or folders is easy: browse to or enter a destination, select check boxes for making the file or folder Accessible, Writeable, Deletable, and Visible, and click OK or Cancel. All the attributes are selected by default, except for Visible. It's easy to see the program in action: pick a file, hide it, and then look for it. You won't see it. Toggle off the protection, and the file is visible again. Upon trying to delete a file with delete protection activated, the system repeatedly demanded administrator privileges to delete the file. Toggle off, try again, file gone. Simple and easy to use, right? The cool thing was invisible feature is not permanent. You may turn it on or off on your choice, BUT! of course you need your password to change anything! :D What does all this mean? aha! Go ahead, protect all your private data. :)

I tried protecting a file. Made it invisible using Easy File Locker. Upon changing settings of my computer and setting to show all hidden files, protected files, etc. also, didn't show the protected files. So this software is quite reliable! :)

Folder Lock 7.0.6 My rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Folder Lock is a popular software used for file security and encryption. Let's see what the developers say:

Folder Lock is a full suite solution letting you keep your personal files encrypted and locked, while keeping an automatic and real-time backup of encrypted files to an online storage. It also offers portable security for USB drives and CDs/DVDs. Folder Lock also lets you lock files, folders and drives; save your personal information in Wallets; shred files and clean your Windows History. Folder Lock offers 256-bit AES on-the-fly encryption as well as syncing of encrypted files to an online storage. No need to decrypt or manually backup your files. You can later restore files at any time, on any computer. Lockers can also be converted to executables using the 'Protect USB/CD' feature that allows you to keep your encrypted files wherever you go in USB drives or CDs and DVD or convert your files and folders to encrypted ZIP files for email attachments.

Furthermore, if you want to protect your files without encrypting them, you can also lock your files, folders and drives on your PC from access and visibility. You can also create Encrypted Wallets to save personal information like Credit Cards, Bank Accounts and Business Cards. You can also Shred files, folders, drives and empty hard drive space. You can also clean Windows usage history. Additionally, Folder Lock comes with additional security settings unheard before. You can activate password security and restrict access to different parts of the application using an admin level master password. You can run the application in complete stealth using the Stealth Mode feature. You can also catch and perform actions on repetitive hack attempts and on basis of incorrect password logs and you can set automatic duration based protection for your data security, so you know that your stuff is no longer accessible to anyone else when you're away from your PC. Folder Lock works under all flavors of 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7/Vista/XP and later.

So in short, Folder Lock is a software that does both File Locking and Encryption. The best part is perhaps it's worst part also. It uses a Folder called "Locker" to save the files. So in case you think to prevent access to your personal data, you need to put that data in the Locker which is totally encrypted and password protected. This is the best part since the Locker is inaccessible and invisible, and even "un-searchable" until you decrypt by using the software, Folder Lock. I have used this software since a long time. But, as I said, it's best part is perhaps it's worst part, the reason being you have to put all the files in locker and loss of locker's password simply implies complete and 100% loss of data! :/ Since the security is perfect, I gave it 4 stars, else due to this sluggish Locker feature I would have given it nothing more than a 3. But the online backup feature added to the newer version makes it a good security software and rules out the problem of loss, as I just pointed out. Anyways, that's for the older versions. Talking about the latest version, I can directly copy the description from CNET, which rather shows that well, the new version is just stunning:

Snoopers can't find or access the files you hide using Folder Lock, even in DOS or under other operating systems. This application provides two levels of protection: you can merely lock files and folders, or you can encrypt them using the 256-bit Blowfish algorithm. When you boot up the program, it'll ask you for a master password. Hitting the Browse link locates and lock folders anywhere on your computer, or you can simply secure them via the context menu. Encryption is limited in the free version to 25 MB.

Although the too-cute-for-words interface doesn't make them easy to find, Folder Lock does have a treasure trove of Advanced features, accessible after you hit the Options button. You can set files to be shredded, force the computer to shut down after failed entry attempts, erase document history, the clipboard and more, and enter into Stealth mode, which hides the app's presence on your computer.

The interface, which includes simple animations for no reason other than to "entertain" you, would be better served by a more standard layout that makes options readily and easily available. No doubt to excite your inner lock-breaking child, the octagonal purplish blue layout is supplemented with three more skins when you purchase the full version.

The program works at a good speed, even when securing large folders. If you share a PC and need to keep certain files to yourself, you should definitely give Folder Lock a try. it is available for both free download an buying, but as I told earlier, the free version restricts encryption of files as large as 25MB only!

Kruptos 2 My rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Perhaps the best Folder/File Locking and Encrypting utility I have used till date. Kruptos 2 is completely outstanding and I would give it 5 on 5 stars! Kruptos 2 Professional is an easy way to encrypt your private data, such as photos, personal information, credit card data, tax returns. Once your files are encrypted, only you will be able to access them by using your private password. You can encrypt your files and package them into a special container known as a self-extracting file which contains the software needed to extract and decrypt your files so you can send your private encrypted files to anyone. All they need is the correct password to view your files. Includes a comprehensive file shredder so you don't have to worry about your files being undeleted. Kruptos 2 Professional integrates seamlessly into Microsoft Windows explorer and automatically re-encrypts your files when you're finished editing or viewing them so you don't have to worry about your files being left unsecured.

This is easily one of the more useful freeware file encryption programs, and the latest version fixes a few minor bugs. Kruptos 2's file menu and icon interface is the picture of simplicity. Encryption is almost effortless. You can drag and drop files to the Kruptos 2 window, and the latest version adds support for dragging and dropping folders.

The encryption algorithm is Blowfish 128-bit, and fast. A key feature obfuscates file names but leaves folder names unaltered. The program offers a feature to see original file names with the proper password, but it is invoked one file at a time. However, Windows integration means you can perform all functions from your context menu.

Unlike many similar programs, files in nested folders are all quickly encrypted as individual files. With a single click you can decrypt a file and edit it, and the file re-encrypts on close. Self-extracting encrypted files are created with a minimum of fuss. The Shred function deletes original files to DOD standards. The program does offer a nag screen for donations, but only once. Kruptos2, with all its features, is what every user needing simple file encryption desires.

Simplicity and Security are the key-points, I would say, characterizing this software. The best thing that I like is that the file name can be encrypted and a fake name that is similar to a hash function is generated. A perfect disguise! :D Moreover, for using the file enter the password and when done, as soon as you close the file, it is encrypted again! Isn't it cool. These simple use and nice set of features have certainly made this software to be my favorite File Locking/Encryption utility ever! Another feature, I forgot to mention earlier, is that the password you enter, the software shows you it's strength. Thus you can be sure whether it is strong/weak/common.

The software is free to try for 30 days. Else it is available to buy also! :D
