What to eat in an Indian restaurant - Guest Post
India is known as a huge country with many traditions and cultures. Each state in this nation can offer you a different style of living, and more importantly, a different taste of dishes. Indian foods are generally hot, spicy and tangy. Be it mixed ‘veg curry’ or hot ‘mutton biryani’, every Indian food item is rich in a special mouth-watering aroma.
People often get confused with what to select from the food items in an Indian food menu and what should be the right combination to eat. Here are some foods you should eat in an Indian restaurant to comprise a perfect Friday night dinner.
Veg.
Vegetable samosa with sauce & chutney and ‘Masala Dosa’: ‘Samosa’ is a traditional Indian dish mostly regarded as a breakfast food. It’s made from ‘maida’ (a wheat product) stuffed with vegetable masala which is really spicy and pretty tasty. It’s often taken with tomato sauce or chutney. Chutney is an Indian sauce compounded of sweet and sour ingredients that adds to the taste of vegetable ‘samosa’. ‘Masala Dosa’ with ‘sambar’ is also a well-preferred food in all Indian restaurants.
Veg-biryani, and Fried rice with mixed curry: Wherever you go if you’re in an Indian restaurant, you’ll surely find biryani as a prime food item. ‘Biryani’ is preferred not only by Indians but by many people in USA, UK, Asia and Australia. If you like to take some tasty side item while eating, take fried rice with mixed ‘veg-curry’.
‘Roti’ with ‘dum paneer’: ‘Roti’ is a flat thin bread of flour, a typical north-Indian meal maker. However, it’s every food-lover’s favorite when there’s a gravy and spicy side item like ‘masala tadka’ or ‘dum paneer’ with it.
Non-veg.
Mutton ‘biryani’ or ‘palao’: Most of the non-vegetarian people in the world like to eat meat. When you talk about main non-veg. dishes mutton biryani or ‘palao’ with mutton curry is generally preferred by most.
‘Naan’ or Stuffed ‘parathas’ with mutton korma or chicken ‘tikka masala’: ‘Naan’, ‘Tandoor’ and stuffed ‘parathas’ are thick ‘rotis’ usually baked with ghee and stuffed with sweet or spicy ‘masala’ (stuffing). You will really enjoy your dinner if you order two ‘naans’ or ‘parathas’ along with half-a-plate mutton korma or chicken tikka masala. These two dishes are spicy, gravy and delicious.
Rice with fish curry: Now let’s move down to the real taste of eastern part of India. There people often enjoy their weekend feast of plain rice and gravy fish curry with their family and friends. If you’re an avid food-lover, never forget to eat a meal of rice and fish curry. A fish curry is gravy and really appetizing especially when it’s prepared in the East Indian method.
If you’re in an Indian restaurant for the first time and choosing the food by its name is becoming cumbersome for you, order a ‘thaali’. A ‘thaali’ is typically a prepared meal of many food items like ‘roti’, rice, ‘dal’ (a dish of pulses), ‘sabji’ (curry), ‘bhaji’ (fry), ‘papad’ (wafer), ‘dahi’ (curd) and ‘gulab jamun’ (‘rasgolla’ or sweets).

Can Desktop, laptop or tablet be replaced by Microsoft’s Hybrid PC [GUEST POST]
Desktop computers are now considered technological relics as they were once replaced by a surge of laptops- - and now tablets duly took the place of laptops. Are tablets in for some taste of its own medicine or are laptops going to be termed fossils?
Windows 8 Hybrid system
Travelling for business and working from home; these might seem difficult tasks even when done separately. There are loads of things to manage before you can actually to make a head-start into that business meeting because of which you travelled such a long distance. Coordinating everything while you work from home to ensure that everything is in place is just as fretful as the boardroom drama.
For situations exactly like this Microsoft has introduced its hybrid system that infuses convenience with functionality. Windows 8 is also designed on the same lines. Like the Windows 8 Hybrid PC, Microsoft had launched Windows XP Tablet PC edition. The latter failed to impress the crowds mainly because of a lack of tablet apps. The main difference between Windows 8 Hybrid PC and Windows XP tablet PC edition is that in the Windows 6 version, Microsoft is offering the feature of touch-first while the Windows XP version just gave you an option to launch Windows programs and operates it with a stylus.
A two-fold system, the Windows 8 Hybrid PC can run even the old documents of Microsoft Office under Windows Blue and then quickly move over to running tablet apps. Now there is no need to waste your time fretting over the question how to sync it with other devices to transfer files. You can still sync with Microsoft’s SkyDrive which gives the users 7GB of free space. But managing data on that space is a lot more complicated than what the average user believes. Computer monitoring software has plagued almost every part of the tech world. It remains to be seen whether the security measures for the SkyDrive will be adequate enough.
The flaws
The technology initiated by Asus’s Transformer line running Android, Windows 8 Hybrid PC’s tablet screen can be detached from the keyboard so that it can be made a laptop as well as a tablet. The Asus Transformer range typically has 10 to 12 inches widescreen while the Windows 8 version cannot be called a laptop with its size and for an average tablet, it is too big.
The Surface Pro seems very light and small. It is after all running Intel Core i5 and for a PC that powerful, its feather weightiness does raise some questions. The battery life is also compromised upon but if compared to Asus Nexus 7 with 7 inches of screen that runs Android OS, it seems heavy and clunky.
Even with many options similar to Microsoft’s Surface Pro, many people still choose to have a laptop and a tablet separately. Microsoft has compromised at several places as far as Surface Pro is concerned; there is no denying the points due to which the hybrid PC stands tall among its competitors.

Next Generation of Apple Devices May Include Fingerprint Scanner [GUEST POST]
Apple introduced us into a new world of portable and hi-tech devices and they are not at all satisfied. They still have something more thrilling in their sleeves for us. Apple made a lot of things become much easier and convenient. With Apple's introduction of portable devices we could just do so much we could only imagine of doing before. They simply took the world into another world of technological possibilities. With all we have enjoyed from Apple's innovations they are not satisfied but still want to give us something more. A new world of what I call 'super tech'.
The company obtained a new patent and it was published. It revealed a fingerprint scanner that could be embedded into products. It is vastly rumored that it will be included in the upcoming iPhone 5S, which means the scanner, will add a new and strong layer of extra security already available with iPhone devices. Especially in our days of phone hacking and phone spying, Apple has always tried to see how they can keep iPhone users safe from all the dangers of cyber wars and cyber espionage and other cyber thefts and illegalities. This fingerprint innovation will also go a long to cover an area that is not really handled in their bid to keep iPhone users safe from some dangers and insecurity that are common today in the advancement of technology.
One key thing that most hi-tech companies and some big Nations especially the world powers are battling with is cyber security and other forms of security. They are working round the clock to come up with solutions to the problems that technology itself has brought with it. Having this in mind Mobile phone companies are leveraging on these problems and making huge sales. Today, any mobile device that promises any form of security is taken seriously and people go for it. Everybody wants to be safe and keep his or her privacy.
The way this new Apple technology works is that, for instance, when you are sliding the phone to unlock it, it will at the same time scan your finger print. If it detects that you are not the owner or at least your fingerprint does not correspond with the one it is coded with, it will remain locked. And the person will not be able to access the phone.
This is not the first time Apple Inc. Has looked the way of fingerprint technology to further secure and serve their teaming users better. Just last year, Cupertino, Calif. Company bought over a finger print-scanning firm- Authen Tec. And this made many suspects that they are after the fingerprint technology feature in their upcoming mobile devices.
With the recent PRISM revelations it seems that many users will be careful about activating this technology on their mobile phones. Though this technology is undoubtedly good and promises better security but how secured can it be? What are some of it lapses? Are users of this fingerprint technology safe from the PRISM hi-tech data mining spy?
Do you think the inclusion of this new innovation from Apple in their next mobile phone is a good idea? Would you use it? Should Apple go ahead and do it? Why not let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.

Canon Powershot SD1400 IS Digital [GUEST POST]
I have always liked the Canon’s line of Elph digital cameras, but I was really impressed with the new Canon Powershot SD1400 IS digital—and not just because it’s one of the coolest-looking and colorful cameras on the market.
The new Canon Powershot SD1400 IS digital has a resolution of 14.1 megapixels, one of the clearest on the compact market, so you can zoom into the pictures you take so much that new pictures you might have never even meant to take pop out of the background of your shots and stay clear enough to crop into a totally new image.
Most of us think being cool is important too, so for all of us, the Canon Powershot SD1400 IS digital is available in a bunch of colors from fun to sophisticated that suit just about anyone’s style. I also noticed they upped the quality of the digital zoom to a full 4x, and the LCD viewer is fantastic, even if you’re looking at it from far away, from an angle, or in really bright sunlight.
Plus, Canon threw in a bunch of cool effects in the Powershot SD1400 to make it even more powerful and fun. There’s a fisheye effect, and color swapping and color removal effects to make fun artsy photos with your friends, and this one even shoots video in HD and comes with an HDMI out so you can plug it right into the TV to watch your videos or view your photos.
For only $249, the Canon Powershot SD1400 IS digital is one of the coolest cameras around for its price!

Student life on screen [GUEST POST]
Here are ten movies about student life, and even though these movies are just a drop in
the ocean compared to how many there truly are, it is still hard to find realistic student
movies. So few student movies tell of what life is really like in schools these days. The
movies on this list each have a snippet of school life that you may recognize, but as for
authentic realism, they all seem to be deficient. The list is in no particular order, and you
should know that some descriptions contain spoilers.
1 - 10 Things I Hate About You
A new kid in the school has a massive crush on a girl, but the only problem is that to
date her, he is going to have to find a date for her sister. Her sister however is the
meanest girl in the school, so he has to go to great extremes to find someone who will
agree to date her.
2 - The Breakfast club
This is a story about five students who all have detention at the same time. As we learn
their stories, we see that they each have something in common, even though they are
all part of different cliques. Each student represents a different student stereotype.
3 - School of Rock
A lame guy pretends to be a teacher and takes it upon himself to teach the stuck-up kids
how to play music instead of learning things they will need. He does it all so that he can
enter a competition that his own band decided to enter, shortly after kicking him out of
the group.
4 - High School musical
No doubt, you have heard of this movie already, where child actors who are great at
singing but terrible at acting are forced through the stereotypical school story arch. If
you are already a fan of High School Musical then there is nothing that can be written to
sway you. If you have not seen it already then it is probably best to give it a miss and let
it fade into history.
5 - Mona Lisa’s Smile
Julia Roberts plays a schoolteacher in what turns out to be a finishing school. Eager
to teach the girls that they can be more than pretty wives, and she takes them on life
lessons. All of this happens as the girls’ lives take turns of their own.
6 - Mean Girls
The new girl Cady makes friends with the popular A-list girl clique when she joins a new
school. But then she has feelings for one of the ex-boyfriends of the popular girls, and
trouble follows.
7 - Donnie Darko
In this movie, we seem to experience the life of a student who becomes more and
more disturbed, until we realize that we are actually watching him relive events in his
disturbed little mind because he is sorry that he killed a girl.
8 - Carrie
This starts out as a story about an abused child, until she goes to school and we see that
the people at school are just as cold and evil as her mother. But the wronged girl gets
back at them by employing her telekinetic abilities to make them suffer. It is not a feel
good movie, but it is based on a Stephen King novel so you cannot expect gold.
9 - The Social Network
Based loosely on the life of Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg, it shows how he invented
the world’s largest social network, only to be sued and attacked by every power that be,
from privacy legislators and a former business partner, to two brothers who claimed he
stole their idea. This is not a typical student movie, but it is more realistic than a story
about kids who burst into song every time a student drops a pencil.
10 - School Ties
In this 1992 movie, Brendan Fraser tries to make it as a real actor, but apparently failed
(judging by his subsequent movies). In School ties, a Jewish boy attends a 1950’s elite
school, but his religion is exposed by another school student. At which point his school
life takes an irrecoverable turn for the worse.
